①how many “多少”,后接可数名词复数,用来询问可数名词的数量.
②how much “多少”,后接不可数名词,用来询问不可数名词的数量.

2.-你需要多少时间做家庭作业 -大约半小时.

something为复合不定代词,多用于肯定句或表示建议及请求的疑问句中
