Every year,Cardiac arrest (心脏骤停)results in 544,000 sudden deaths.However,fewer than 1%of bystanders are capable of performing first aid.Therefore,First Aid Onsite is launching a series of training programs to promote the public's first-aid skills.
Training content

Training method

The time spent on the training,typically two full days,must be enough to ensure the trainees perform CPR and deal with wounds properly.After the basic training,the trainees should pass a theoretical examination and a practical skill assessment with a human-patient simulator to earn a certificate.Retraining and retest are also required 6 months after the first round of training to guarantee the effectiveness.

As a high school student in England,I thought I knew a lot about Hamlet.Having seen quite a few productions of Hamlet and read the play many times,I was full of confidence —until the Peking Opera came to town!
Peking Opera,a form of traditional Chinese theater,has over two hundred years of history.Does this mean it's easier than a Shakespeare play to understand To find out the answer,I just had to go and see The Revenge of Prince Zidan—the Peking Opera version of Hamlet.
Starting with an orchestra playing traditional Chinese instruments,the opera brought a completely new sound to my Western ears.At first,I thought what I heard was a violin,but later I leant that it was an instrument with two strings called jingbu.Then,seeing the main characters come on stage,I was surprised!The costumes and masks were amazing.The performers of course sang in Chinese,but the music,exaggerated movements and mime helped get the meanings across to the audience.And the stage was really simple:A decorated whip represented a horse,and a screen with Chinese characters served as a study.Using such techniques,the opera had transformed a small stage into the whole universe.I had never seen Prince Hamlet do a backflip before!That was simply incredible.It was so impressive and energetic that I wasn't sure if the characters were performers or athletes! Everyone was clapping.
Before experiencing The Revenge of Prince Zidan,I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it.But,in fact, I was on the edge of my seat! Feeling the strong emotions of love,anger,fear and grief in the performance,I could easily recngnize the theme of Hamlet.So,if you want to see a show that combines music,singing,drama,poetry and costume design with explosive effect,The Revenge of Prince Zidan ticks all the right boxes!

In recent research,my colleagues and I set out to investigate the neural(神经的)mechanisms underlying these experiences.Specifically,we sought to umderstand what occurs within the brain when a person engages in abstract and demanding thought.
Previous studies concentrated on brain activity during the brief consideration of problems that take mere seconds to solve.However,our study took a different approach by using more complex math challenges,which are more similar to the tricky puzzles.
We recruited 22 university students to join in math programs.They were asked to solve a series of complex math problems while undergoing functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI,核 磁 共 振 )scans which allowed us to observe changes in brain activity as they handled the problems.
We found the brain regions associated with math processing were highly active during the task, particularly in those with extensive math expertise(专业技能) . Furthermore,as the students deeper researched into the problems,their brains showed increased connectivity between different regions, indicating a heightened state of concentration.
The findings could potentially aid scientists in gaining a broader understanding of the power of concentration,which suggest that developing expertise in a particular field can enhance the brain's ability to concentrate.This may be due to the fact that the brain filters out ( 滤 除 ) irrelevant information and focuses on the most critical aspects of a problem.Additionally,their extensive experience may have led to the formation of neural pathways that facilitate more efficient problem- solving.
In conclusion,our study provides valuable insights into the neural mechanisms underlying deep
concentration and the role of expertise in enhancing this ability.As we continue to explore these
