Duan Lianru doesn’t remember how many times she has met the “Miss Photogenic”. The wild Siberian tiger (西伯利亚虎) seems to have put on a little weight recently. Duan can always recognize (认出) her easily. She has watched the tiger grow up-from when she was still a baby to the time she became old enough to leave her mother.
Duan works at a scientific research center. She has a very special job-making cards for Siberian tigers. With the help of about 5,000 cameras put in the wild, she checks hundreds of pictures on the computer every day. Then she records and compares them patiently. And the information is put in the “ID cards”, including each tiger’s patterns, activity areas, eating habits, and so on.
What Duan is doing is part of China’s efforts to protect Siberian tigers. These tigers mainly live in Russia’s Far East and Northeast China. They’re one of the world’s most endangered animals.
To save them, China has set up the Northeast China Tiger and Leopard National Park, which has an area of over 14,000 square kilometers and spans (横跨) Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces. Thanks to people like Duan, the number of wild Siberian tigers in the park is now about seventy. And they also live longer.

Bob likes climbing very much. However, there wasn’t one climbing club in his school at first, so he felt sad.

YangBOT (秧BOT)

Robert and his brother were playing football in their front yard. Suddenly a woman ran out of her house shouting to them to call an ambulance. Her 12-week-old baby seemed to stop breathing. She was so scared that she couldn’t find her phone, so she had decided to rush outside to ask for help.

The Mogao Caves (莫高窟) are a very special place in China, which lie in Dunhuang, Gansu Province. The Mogao Caves are thousands of years old. In 1987, they were listed as a world heritage (遗产) site by UNESCO.

When you are busy with your schoolwork, you might find it hard to get enough sleep. We all know that not getting enough sleep is bad for our health. But it has been found that less sleep could even cause you to have fewer friends, the Guardian reported.
According to researchers from the University of California, people who don’t get enough sleep are less willing to socialize (社交) with others. They are simply too tired to go out.
The researchers did a small study. They tested 18 young people who just had a good night’s sleep as well as tested them again after a sleepless night. Duan Lianru doesn’t remember how many times she has met the “Miss Photogenic”. The wild Siberian tiger (西伯利亚虎) seems to have put on a little weight recently. When you are busy with your schoolwork, you might find it hard to get enough sleep. We all know that not getting enough sleep is bad for our health. But it has been found that less sleep could even cause you to have fewer friends, the Guardian reported.
According to researchers from the University of California, people who don’t get enough sleep are less willing to socialize (社交) with others. They are simply too tired to go out.
The researchers did a small study. They tested 18 young people who just had a good night’s sleep as well as tested them again after a sleepless night.
