Plastic is a man-made material made from oil. It’s long-lasting and found almost everywhere. From the paint on the walls to the keyboard we use, plastic is a big part of our everyday life. Even blood tests are done using plastic syringes (注射器). It is truly a wonder material that has made life easier and safer.
However, plastic also causes some problems. First, plastic is made from fossil fuels (化石燃料), and its production gives out greenhouse gases. These gases keep heat in the air, causing the Earth’s temperature to rise. Another problem is that plastic takes hundreds of years to break down. Around 400 million tons of plastic waste are produced worldwide each year. Plastic bags create rubbish that is dangerous to wildlife, as animals sometimes mistake plastic for food. Every year, thousands of animals die because of this.
So, how can we solve the problem Many organizations are working to clean up plastic waste, especially in oceans and rivers where plastic pollution is the worst. But everyone can also do their part. For example, we can use reusable bags when shopping and avoid ordering takeout with lots of plastic materials. We can refill our water bottles rather than buy new ones. We can also keep our phones longer instead of always buying new ones. Remember, even small actions can make a big difference.
Let’s make more changes to reduce plastic waste. If everyone helps, we can save our planet.
62. What is plastic made from
A. Cotton. B. Wood. C. Oil. D. Waste.
63. What problem does plastic bring

65. How does the writer feel about reducing plastic waste
A. Excited. B. Confident. C. Doubtful. D. Disappointed.
D
Everyone has dreams that they’ve always held close to their heart, but dreams are not just things we wish for. They require effort and a clear plan to become a reality.
First of all, to achieve your dream, it’s important to be clear what it is. For example, saying “I want to be famous” is too unclear. What exactly do you want to be famous for Do you want to be an actor, an athlete, or something else The clearer your dream is, the easier it will be to focus on how to get there.
While it’s great to dream big, you also need to set smaller, achievable goals along the way. Think of your dream as a large mountain, and each small goal as a step toward reaching the top. For example, if you want to become a successful athlete, you can start by practicing regularly (定期地), eating healthy, and training with a coach. Small steps like these will help you get closer to your big dream. Working hard each day is key to making progress.
Sometimes, you might worry that your friends or family won’t understand your dream. It’s okay to talk to them about what you want to do. They care about you and may be more supportive than you think. They could offer advice or even help you connect with others who can guide you on your journey.
What’s more, reaching your dream might mean making changes in your life, like changing jobs or studying something new. Before making any big decisions, take time to carefully consider the possible consequences. The choices you make now will influence your future.
Remember, it’s never too late to run after your dreams. The most important thing is to take that first step and start working toward them. With clear goals, hard work, and support from others, you can make your dreams come true.
66. What is the first step to achieve your dream
A. Changing jobs. B. Setting smaller goals.
C. Being clear what your dream is. D. Talking to family and friends.
67. What is the purpose of the example in Paragraph 3
A. To explain how to set bigger goals.
B. To share the importance of practicing regularly.
C. To describe what a successful athlete looks like.
D. To show how to turn a big dream into small steps.
68. What should you do if you want to make progress toward your dream
A. Make a big decision. B. Work hard day by day.
C. Focus on the end goal. D. Wait for a good chance.
69. Which is close to the underlined word “consequences”
A. Results. B. Symbols. C. Tools. D. Standards.
70. What might be the best title of the passage
A. How to Hold Your Dream B. How to Build Your Dream
C. How to Realize Your Dream D. How to Choose Your Dream
第二节 阅读表达(共5题;每题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面短文,简略回答问题。
As the seasons change around the world, many animals begin to migrate (迁徙). Migration is the movement of large numbers of animals from one place to another. They usually do this in search of food, better weather, or a more suitable environment. These journeys often happen seasonally, and many animals return to their starting points after a period of time.
One of the main reasons for migration is the search for food. Some animals migrate during dry seasons to look for fresh grass to eat and water to drink. Others migrate to get away from difficult weather conditions. For example, around 50 kinds of birds leave the UK each winter to avoid the cold.
But how do animals know when it is time to begin their journey For those migrating in search of food, a shortage (短缺) of food can be a sign to migrate. Other animals can sense the coming of winter by noticing shorter days. Changes in temperature can also serve as a sign that it is time to migrate.
How do animals know where to go Though they don’t have maps, animals use different skills to find their direction. Some use the stars and the sun, much like early humans did, while others depend on rivers and mountains. Some animals can even use their sense of smell to help them find their way.
In a way, humans also migrate, although our migration is usually not seasonal. People may leave their hometowns for study or work, but often return during holidays, key festivals, or important family matters. For example, nearly all Chinese people travel back to their hometowns to celebrate the Spring Festival.
