At the beginning of this term, I was lucky enough to be chosen as a volunteer docent (讲解员) of the Power Station of Art. I had thought that being a docent would be an easy task, but I was wrong.
When I started my volunteer work I could not make myself understood. I was rather nervous, though the visitors were smiling at me all the time. I knew it was mainly because I hadn’t prepared well enough. I decided to change.
After coming back home, I printed out all the information about the exhibition (展览). I read every word carefully and marked the key points. It was quite a big collection, with over fifty pieces of artworks on show. I chose twenty of them as the main focus of my guidance. Then, I divided them into four groups. Every day, I tried to remember one of my guiding scripts (讲稿) and practiced it. After a week of hard work, I kept all the key points from my scripts in my heart and then I practiced retelling them again and again in front of my family. The next day at the Power Station of Art, I managed to give a smooth and detailed introduction to the visitors.
I was glad that I wasn’t beaten by failure. Now I’ve realized that you will never know what you can do until you try your best. Working as a volunteer docent at the Power Station of Art was such a valuable experience for me!

Starting high school can be difficult. Everyone is nervous and nobody knows where to go for classes. Thinking about making new friends might make you feel nervous, too. But don’t worry, because you are not alone. You are going to school with a group of students of your age, and we have several tips for you to follow.
Forget your fear and just talk to someone. It is easier said than done. But try to take a deep breath and find your voice. Don’t be afraid to get close to people. Introduce yourself and start a conversation about something you have in common. Sit in the middle of the classroom with as many new friends around you as possible.
Join clubs. Take part in the after-school activities that interest you. Try to make friends in the clubs. If you don’t join anything, you will be just going to class and then going home. Being in a club makes you more social.
Stay clean. No one likes a bad smell that could knock someone over. Shower every day, brush your teeth and wash your hair. You are supposed to make yourself look clean and tidy, whatever you wear.
Be respectful ( 尊重的) of people’s differences. Everyone has his or her own opinion of the world. And everyone believes in different things. It’s a good thing to have different friends with different opinions because you can each share your own.
57. What does the first tip mainly tell us
A. We need to join clubs. B. We need to stay clean.
C. We need to respect others. D. We need to talk with others bravely.

D
What do you manage to do every day even when you are very busy Is it difficult for you to keep this habit
Self-disciplined (自律的) people are not all great people. But nearly all great people are self-disciplined people. Some of them read every day. Some of them never run late. The real difference between great people and common people is that great people can manage their time well. That’s where their success comes from. What people call self-disciplined is in fact self-management.
One example is keeping healthy. Never underestimate (低估) someone who is in good shape. Anyone who has ever tried to lose weight knows that it’s not easy. It’s even harder to avoid putting weight back on. If someone is in good shape, it shows that he knows the principles (原则) of keeping healthy and is able to stick to a plan that uses these principles.
An elite person is often good at managing themselves and their time. Whether it is natural or learned, it is a great skill.
It also shows that this person is able to keep persevering (坚持不懈的) and can balance long-term goals with short-term goals.
So if someone is in good shape, he or she is more than just healthy. How do you learn self-management First of all, set a goal and write down your reasons for wanting to achieve it. Create a list of all the things you need to do to achieve this goal and start to work on one of them at a time. With self-discipline, small things in life will no longer trouble you. Only through self-discipline can you truly own your future.
61. How does the writer begin the text
A. By asking a question. B. By telling a story.
C. By giving an example. D. By explaining differences.
62 What’s the difference between great people and common people
A. Great people read every day. B. Great people are all self-disciplined.
C. Great people can manage their time well. D. Great people always prepare everything well.
63. Which of the following is suggested according to the last paragraph
A. Doing two of things you need to do at a time.
B. Setting a goal and writing down some questions.
C. Trying to complete all of your tasks at the same time.
D. Making a list of all the things you need to do.
64. Which word is close to the underlined word “elite”
A. Silly. B. Important. C. Silent. D. Excellent.
65. Which can be a proper title for the text
A. The Importance of Self-disciplined B. What Is Self-discipline
C. How to Learn Self-management D. How to Build a Healthy Body
