Kites are a traditional form of art in China. They have a history of about 2,300 years. Traditional kite patterns can mean many things, including good luck, long life, and happiness. People fly kites to express their wishes for a better life.
Last week, there was a kite festival at our school. We were happy to be able to make kites ourselves. My group made a special one. First, we got different materials: special paper, a string, bamboo sticks, scissors and glue.
Next, we cut the paper into a shape. Then, we connected the string to the main part of the kite. Finally, we drew beautiful patterns on our kite.
On the day of the festival, we had so much fun. There were many beautiful kites in the sky. They came in many different shapes. Some kites looked like birds, some looked like butterflies and some looked like fish. Guess what our kite was. It was a dragon! We won a special award at the festival.

The Process of Making a Vase with clay
Materials Needed:
- Clay (you can choose your favorite color)
- Water (for wetting hands and clay)
- A small cutting tool (like a plastic knife)
- A sponge (for smoothing the surface)
1. Preparing the Clay
First, take a proper amount of clay. If the clay feels too hard, add a little water and knead it with your hands.
2. Shaping the vase by Hand
If you don't have a potter's wheel, you can still make a nice vase by hand.
3. Adding Details
After you have the basic shape of the vase, you can add some details to make it more beautiful.
4. Drying
Put the vase in a safe place and let it dry naturally. It usually takes a few days for the clay to become completely dry. Make sure the vase is dry enough before moving to the next step.
