1. Hold on.
hold v. 拿着;抓住 其过去式和过去分词均为held。
Language points
He was holding the baby in his arms. 他怀里抱着婴儿。
hold作动词的其他常见含义: ①召开,举行
Miss Zhang is holding a parents’meeting in the school hall.
张老师正在学校礼堂开家长会。
②容纳,包含(不用于进行时态)
The movie theatre holds 1,000 people. 这家电影院能容纳1 000人。
2. How are you doing
该句意为“你过得怎么样?/你还好吗?”,常用来询问对方最近的生活、工作或事情进展的情况。常用答语如下:
Good/Great! 很好! Not bad! 还不错!
Terrible! 糟透了! Just so-so. 一般。
Everything is going well. 一切进展顺利。
3. It’s great to hear your voice!
voice n. 嗓音;声音
in a deep/soft/loud voice 用低沉/柔和/响亮的声音
raise/lower one’s voice 提高/压低声音
lose one’s voice 失声
keep one’s voice down 小声一点
He raised his voice so that the students could hear him.
为了能让学生听清,他提高了嗓音。
【辨析】voice, sound与noise
There was too much noise outside the classroom, so the physics teacher had to raise his voice, “Light travels much faster than sound.” 教室外面吵闹声太大了,因此物理老师不得不提高嗓门说:“光的传播速度比声音快得多。”
voice 指人的嗓音,如说话、唱歌的声音。
sound 泛指自然界的各种声音。
noise 多指不悦耳的噪声、喧闹声等。
4. When you call somebody
somebody pron. 某人;有人
① 作代词,意为“某人”,相当于someone
Somebody is waiting for you outside. 有人在外面等你。
② 作名词,意为“重要人物”
She thinks he’s really somebody in that car.
她以为,坐上那辆车,她就真成个人物了。
5. Could I speak to...
could modal v. 能;可以
[情态动词] 在此用于请求对方允许自己做某事,语气比can委婉。“Could I... ”意为“我能……吗?”。
肯定回答:Yes, you can./Of course you can.
否定回答:Sorry, you can’t./Sorry, I’m afraid you can’t.
--Could I have a look at your new watch 我能看一下你的新手表吗?
--Of course you can. Here you are. 当然可以,给你。
6. Can I take a message
message n. 消息;信息
take a message (for sb.) (帮某人)捎个口信/传话
leave a message 留个口信
send a message to sb. = send sb. a message 给某人发信息
Jenny isn’t at home now. Can I take a message for you
珍妮现在不在家。要我帮你捎个口信吗?
Mr. Zhang is not in now. But you can leave a message.
张先生现在不在,不过你可以留言。
You’d better not send a message to Mrs. Liu (= send Mrs. Liu a message) because it’s too late. 你最好不要给刘老师发信息,因为太晚了。

许多下载我的课件的老师可能都遇到了同样的麻烦:听力操作比较麻烦。好多老师在给学生播放听力时,习惯于点击课件上的“小喇叭”图标,在使用我的课件时也用了同样的方法,结果却遇到了前所未有的麻烦,不知怎么办才好。下面我给大家讲解一下我的课件中的听力操作方法:
我的音频是嵌入式音频,所以老师们在使用我的课件的时候,不需要把课件和听力音频放到同一文件夹中,只需要课件就可以了。播放听力时,只需在其他任何地方按鼠标左键就可以了(不要点击小喇叭),就跟其他动画操作一样。用翻页笔的老师,只需要按翻页笔的“下一页”即可;如果想再听一遍,先按翻页笔的“上一页”,再按“下一页”就可以重复听。听完后如果按“下一页”,答案就会出现。
简单的一句话,我的课件中要播放听力,只需下翻页就可以。跟其他动画操作一样。
