Here’s the weather report. Let’s look at the weather across Australia. In the north, it’s stormy. It’s raining and the wind is blowing hard. The temperature is around 20℃. In the west, it’s cloudy and about 22℃. In the south and east, the sun is shining and it’s very hot. It’s around 35℃. The centre of the country has the best weather right now. It’s warm and dry, and the temperature is about 28℃.

1. W hat's the weather like at Grandpa's place (教材P42 1c)
询问天气情况一般用：How’s the weather…… =What’s the weather like…… 意为“……的天气怎么样？”weather不可数名词，意为“天气；气象”不能与不定冠词a，an连用。这里的like作介词，意为“像”。答语常为“(It’s+)表示天气状况的形容词.”或“It’s + v-ing.”。
eg：－What's the weather like today 今天天气怎么样？
－It’s raining/snowing/blowing/thundering and lighting.
正在下雨/下雪/刮风/打雷和闪电。

2.rain还可以作名词，意为“雨，雨水”。
eg：Don’t go out in the rain. 下雨呢，不要出去了。
3.用形容词heavy/light表示雨的大/小。
eg：What a heavy rain! 多大的一场雨啊！
4.在表示“下雨”时，可以用rain的不同形式来表达。
eg：There is rain in Shanghai.（rain作名词，表示“雨”）
=It is rainy in Shanghai.（rain的形容词形式rainy表示“下雨的”）
=It is raining in Shanghai.（rain的现在分词形式raining表示“下雨”）
