Advice Columnist / Agony Aunt
In many English-speaking countries, people can write to an Advice Columnist (USA) or Agony Aunt (UK/ Australia) in a newspaper or magazine or on a website to ask for advice. They can ask for help with an issue or problem they have, and their letter and the reply are published for everyone to see. In this way, other people with similar issues or problems can benefit from the advice too.
The person giving the advice is often adoctor or counsellor who is well-qualified to help with different issues. They often have memorable names, such as “Dr Know”
