Good afternoon, this is Yunnan News Today. Here is a piece of breaking news — A strong earthquake hit
Myanmar (缅甸).
A powerful 7.9-magnitude (级) earthquake happened in Myanmar at 12:50 p. m. local time on March 28. The
quake’s center was near Mandalay, Myanmar’s second-largest city. Myanmar leader Myint Aung Hlaing made a
TV speech saying that the earthquake in Myanmar has caused 144 deaths and 732 injuries (伤害) in the country,
and the number of the dead and the injuries may further increase.
People in Yunnan provinces in China and Bangkok in Thailand said they felt the strong shaking. Scientists
explained that earthquakes would happen when underground plates suddenly move so that the energy from the
quake could travel far.
In Mandalay, fallen rocks and dirt from hills have blocked roads, making it hard for rescue (救援) workers to
reach the area. Myanmar has opened up rescue channels (通道) and hopes that the international community and
organizations can provide help and support.

There are different ways to think about and solve problems. Most people just think in the so-called forward

A simple badge (徽章) is playing an important role in helping lost old people return home. By scanning a QR
