结构:
主语+谓语+宾语(陈述句语序)、从属连词。
连接宾语从句的从属连词:
主要有that, if, whether,和特殊疑问词(what, how, where, when等)。
that引导表示陈述句的宾语从句,
if和whether,whether...or not引导表示“是否”的一般疑问句的宾语从句,
而what, how, where and when 引导表示特殊疑问句的宾语从句。

(2) 辨析 lonely 与alone
①lonely为形容词,作表语时,“孤独的”,表示主观上感到孤独,有较浓的感彩。
lonely作定语时,荒凉的,偏僻的, 修饰表示地点的名词。
My sister feels lonely.
我姐姐感到孤独。
They went to a lonely island.
他们到了一座荒凉的小岛。
②alone形容词,“单独的”,侧重说明客观上独自一人,没有同伴,没有感彩。
He is alone in the house.
他单独在房子里。
alone副词,“单独地,独自地”。
walk alone/live alone独自一人散步/生活。

regret “懊悔;遗憾”。 regretted-regretted; regretting
regret (not) doing sth. “后悔(没)做了某事(已做)”。
regret to do sth. 对要做的事感到遗憾(未做) 。

I regret to say you failed in the exam.
