Unit 5 Water is life
Cross-curricular connection

The Importance of Water to the Human Body
Water is like fuel for the human body. Just as a car cannot run without gasoline, our bodies cannot work properly without water. In fact, about 60% of our body weight is water. Water helps carry nutrients, control body temperature, and remove waste. Without enough water, people may feel tired, get headaches, or even face serious health problems.
However, many people have bad drinking habits. Some wait until they feel thirsty to drink water. Others replace water with sugary drinks like soda or juice. Drinking too much water at once is also unhealthy. It may hurt your kidneys(肾). These habits can harm our bodies.
To stay healthy, we should develop good drinking habits. First, drink enough water every day—6-8 glasses. Second, drink small amounts of water regularly instead of waiting until you’re thirsty. Third, choose clean water instead of sweet drinks. Take a water bottle with you or set alarms. These can help you develop good habits.
In conclusion, water is important to life. Let’s value this “invisible hero”(隐形英雄) in our bodies by drinking wisely. Start today, and your body will thank you with better energy and health!
