1. 一般过去时的含义和句式
(1)主要表示过去某一时间所发生的动作或存在的状态。

2. 一般过去时的用法及时间标志词
(1)表示过去某个时间里所发生的动作或存在的状态。其常见的标志词有:
①yesterday类; ② last 类:last week, last year, last month 等; ③ago类:two hours ago等; ④in+过去的年份:in 2020; ⑤this类:this morning; ⑥just now, once upon a time, at the age of..., used to...等。
e.g. I went to the film museum last weekend.
上周末我去了电影博物馆。
(2)表示过去常常或反复发生的动作,常与always, usually, often,
sometimes, never等频度副词连用。
e.g. He always took the time to explain things to me clearly whenever
I couldn’t understand anything.
每当我什么都听不懂的时候,他总是花时间给我解释清楚。
(3)在时间状语从句或者条件状语从句中,常用一般过去时代替过
去将来时。
e.g. They would not leave until they finished their work.
直到完成工作他们才会离开。
(4)有些句子中没有明确的表示过去的时间状语,但实际上是指过
去发生的动作或存在的状态,应当用一般过去时。
e.g. What was the final score
最终的比分是多少 (说话时比分已经出来了)
3. 规则动词过去式的构成

以e结尾的动词，加-d
以“辅音字母 + y” 结尾的动词，变y为i，再加-ed
以重读闭音节结尾，且末尾只有一个辅音字母的动词双写末尾的辅音字母，再加-ed
动词的过去式分为规则变化和不规则变化
