②Why do you think so
A book report.
A book report includes 4 parts.
First, it introduces basic information about the book, such as the title (The Old Man and the Sea) and the writer (Ernest Hemingway).
Second, it summarizes the main idea of the story.
Third, it describes key events in the story, like the fisherman fighting a huge fish and sharks eating the fish later.
Finally, it shows what the reader has learned.
学生读书报告更偏向学习任务,强调对书籍内容的理解吸收;书评更具评论性和推荐性,面向更广泛读者。
③What's the difference between a book review and a book report
Read Para. 2 and answer the questions
S1: Yes, I'd like to read it. Because it seems to be a very inspiring story. It tells us the spirit of not giving up, which I think can encourage me in my life.
The story is about an old man fighting for days to catch a huge fish on the sea.
2. Would you like to read it Why or why not
1. What is the story about ”
S2: No, I'm not interested. I prefer stories with more exciting plots and happy endings.
My favorite book is The Old Man and the Sea. The American writer Ernest Hemingway wrote it in 1952. The book became popular very quickly. In 1953, it won the Pulitzer Prize.
The main character is a fisherman. He hasn't caught anything for months. One day he catches a huge fish, but he has to fight for days to kill it. He finally succeeds, but he can't pull the fish onto his boat. On his way back, sharks eat the fish, leaving nothing but bones.
This book has taught me not to give up. The fisherman fights hard, even though he loses the fish in the end. As Hemingway said, "Man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated." Even though I've already read the book three times, I'm not tired of it yet. If you've never read Ernest Hemingway, I recommend this book.

Group 2: If I were the fisherman, I might not keep fighting. The fish is so huge and powerful. I've already fought for days and I'm completely worn - out. if sharks or huge fish like that appeared at that time, it would make the situation even worse. Instead of risk ing my life, I'd rather give up.
Group1: I'd keep fighting. The fisherman has been struggling for a long time without catching anything. This huge fish is just like a good chance to show myself. Even though the fish is powerful and the fight may last long, I can't back down. Every effort counts. I'm not afraid of being destroyed, because the spirit of never giving up is more important. I must prove myself through this fight.

参考答案:
When the old fisherman returned to the village, he was very tired. His clothes were torn, and he looked weak. The villagers came to see him and were surprised to find only the bones of the huge fish. Some villagers said, “You fought for so long, but got nothing.” But the old man just smiled and said nothing.
The young boy, Manolin, ran to him and cried, “I knew you were brave! Let’s go fishing together next time.” The old man felt warm in his heart. He realized that even though he didn’t bring back the fish meat, he got something more important — the respect of the boy and his own strong will. From then on, he still went fishing every day, not just for fish, but for the love of the sea and the challenge of

My favorite book is Charlotte's Web. It was written by E. B. White. The story is mainly about a pig named Wilbur and a spider named Charlotte. Wilbur is a pig on a farm and is in danger of being killed for food. Charlotte, the clever and kind - hearted spider, uses her web to write words that praise Wilbur, like "Some Pig" and "Terrific", which saves Wilbur's life.
