The Story of Yu Gong
Once upon a time, there was an old man called Yu Gong. He lived near two big mountains（which blocked(阻碍了) his family’s way.） Although he was almost 90 years old, he decided to move the mountains with his family.It seemed impossible, but Yu Gong never gave up.A man named Zhi Sou laughed at Yu Gong and said, “You are too weak to move such big mountains!” Yu Gong answered confidently.“If I die, my sons will continue. When they die, my grandsons will keep moving the mountains. The mountains won’t grow bigger, but my family will never stop!”____________ They worked day and night, carrying stones and soil to the sea. The journey to the other side took many hours.Finally, a god was so moved by Yu Gong,so he sent two gods to take the mountains away.From this story, we learn that nothing is impossible if we work hard and never give up.People today still admire Yu Gong’s spirit.
