Welcome to Rock Creek Park. It's a big park in the middle of Washington, DC. Today, this park is going to be the site of a big research project. Dozens of scientists from around the United States along with hundreds of volunteers are here for something called a BioBlitz. In a BioBlitz, teams of scientists, parents, kids, and volunteers all go to a park and look for examples of everything that's alive there. They work in teams to count every living thing that they find-from the big animals like deer and rabbits to tiny plants. But they only have 24 hours to do it.

After You Watch
I think there is a lot of biodiversity in my town, because there are mountains, a lake, and plenty of parks and green space.
Behind my home there is a large park which is filled with trees. There are all sorts of plants and insects there, but not so many other animals. It is a good place to take a walk, or to sit and enjoy the view of the nearby lake.
Introduce a park in your city for the whole class and then write it down as a passage.
