Good afternoon, this is Yunnan News Today. Here is a piece of breaking news — A strong earthquake hit Myanmar (缅甸).
A powerful 7.9-magnitude (级) earthquake happened in Myanmar at 12:50 p. m. local time on March 28. The quake’s center was near Mandalay, Myanmar’s second-largest city. Myanmar leader Myint Aung Hlaing made a TV speech saying that the earthquake in Myanmar has caused 144 deaths and 732 injuries (伤害) in the country, and the number of the dead and the injuries may further increase.
People in Yunnan provinces in China and Bangkok in Thailand said they felt the strong shaking. Scientists explained that earthquakes would happen when underground plates suddenly move so that the energy from the quake could travel far.
In Mandalay, fallen rocks and dirt from hills have blocked roads, making it hard for rescue (救援) workers to reach the area. Myanmar has opened up rescue channels (通道) and hopes that the international community and organizations can provide help and support.

As you grow up, you need to explore the world in new ways, while your parents need to protect you from the dangers in the world. Different ideas might lead to fights in families. Do you know how to make your home a happy and healthy place Try the following.
Respect
Respect is more than just doing what you are told to do. Respect is about valuing what your parents have to say. It is also about them valuing what you have to say. Mark, 14, puts it this way, “At least try to understand whatever they are trying to tell you, no matter how bad it may sound at the time.”
Communication
You can communicate with your parents by expressing your thoughts in a respectful way. Your ability to explain your thoughts calmly may give your parents a chance to see you in a new light.
Trust
You are more likely to get along with your parents and have more freedom if your parents trust you. Trust is the cornerstone built between both of you.

Some teenagers find that doing fun activities with parents can help them out. Sharing time together can build trust and communication. Sometimes we forget that parents are more than rule-makers—they’re interesting people who like to watch movies, play cards, and go shopping—just like us!
Your relationship with your parents may be sometimes good and sometimes bad. But remember that parents can be a great support when things are not going well. So try your best to improve the relationship between you and your parents. If your parents see that you try your best, they will do the same.

Do you love snakes Yes, I love snakes, but my mom doesn’t. Many people who are afraid of snakes have never seen one. My mom is the same. So where does this fear come from
To find out, scientists showed pictures of snakes, pandas, cats, flowers, and other things to people of all ages, even babies. People found snakes faster than flowers. It wasn’t just snakes. They also found spiders faster than “safe” things like flowers. It seems we notice dangerous things more quickly. Maybe we are born to be afraid of them.
Scientists also found that people learn to fear snakes quickly. Why Most said they were influenced by the scared voices and faces of others who had seen snakes, even though they themselves had never been bitten. If we had to be bitten to learn that snakes are dangerous, we might learn too late.
So, why does it matter if we are afraid of snakes It might not matter much to us, but it’s very important to snakes. People protect animals they like, not those they fear. Snakes may not be as cute as pandas, but they are just as important to the environment. Snakes eat pests like insects and mice. They are also food for other animals. When we kill snakes, we break the balance of nature.
How can we reduce our fear of snakes Scientists did a study. Some students went on a field trip. With safety tips, they could touch and hold a snake. It turns out that snakes aren’t so bad when you know how to be safe around them. Most people who were afraid of snakes before the trip weren’t afraid afterward. In fact, some even made snakes their favorite animal. Maybe I should take my mom on the next field trip!
52. How does the writer start the passage
A. By telling a story. B. By asking questions.
C. By explaining the result. D. By listing numbers.
53. What happened to the students after the field trip
A. They were still afraid of snakes. B. Some of them became interested in snakes.
C. They all liked snakes better than pandas. D. They thought snakes were more dangerous.
54. After reading the passage, what can we learn from what scientists discovered
A. Find problems and do research to solve them. B. Don’t be afraid and find chances in danger.
C. Never forget to provide people with safety tips. D. Never stop making efforts.
55. What’s the main idea of this passage
A. The importance of snakes in the environment and why people should protect them.
B. The results of scientific studies on people’s fear of snakes and spiders.
C. The influence of parents’ attitudes on children’s fear of snakes.
D. The reasons why people are afraid of snakes and how to reduce this fear.

There are different ways to think about and solve problems. Most people just think in the so-called forward way. For example, taking out the boy from the water isn’t the only way to save him in a water vat. Breaking the vat to let the water out can also solve the problem. This is called reverse thinking (逆向思维), which means considering a problem in an opposite way.
Reverse thinking is considered a really useful problem-solver, especially when students fail to solve a problem with forward thinking. It helps them see things in a different way and find creative solutions.
So, how can we develop reverse thinking First, turn the question around. For example, instead of asking, “How can I improve my grades ” you could ask, “How can I make my grades worse ” Next, list possible negative (消极的) actions and pick the two most harmful ones. You can list “never study,” “avoid homework,” “ignore teachers’ advice,”… and choose the two most harmful ones — “never study” and “avoid homework”. Then, turn these into positive (积极的) solutions: “never study” becomes “study for 30 minutes every day,” and “avoid homework” turns into “complete homework step by step.” Through this practice, students can slowly learn reverse thinking. And when they face problems, they can find new and clever ways to solve them.
All in all, reverse thinking is a useful skill for students to improve themselves, as it can help them become more open-minded and creative problem solvers in all areas of their lives. What’s more, it can make them become better people.

A simple badge (徽章) is playing an important role in helping lost old people return home. By scanning a QR code (二维码) on the lightweight and waterproof plastic badge, anyone with a smartphone can reach the old people’s family immediately. The badge’s bright color makes it easy to be noticed and read, even from a distance.
This idea started five years ago when Li and his police team faced a problem: Their station dealt with over 200 lost elderly people yearly. Police often had difficulty contacting (联系) their families because the elderly couldn’t provide clear facts like addresses or phone numbers. Many of them had memory problems, worsening the situation. Some had to stay overnight at the station. “Many elderly people get lost often, and it’s risky if they don’t get help in time,” Li explained. To help people know more, the team also had classes to show families how to use the badges.
To solve this, Li’s team spent two months creating a QR code badge. The code keeps family contact information and medical records, making sure help is fast and safe. With the help of the badge system, they only need to help around 120 old people every year, saving both time and money.
Let me introduce an invention to you — a new badge. This lightweight and waterproof badge with a QR code helps lost elderly people ____74____ safely. The badge’s bright color makes it easy ____75____. When the QR code was scanned by a smartphone, ____76____ are shown. The Changes Made Me Grow Up
I’ve changed a lot during the past three years. I grew taller and started caring about my looks. However, the biggest change was not my appearance but my habits and personality.
In the past, I was too shy to answer questions in class. I often hid behind my textbook and never said anything. After school, I wasted hours playing video games alone. Everything changed when I joined the school running club last year. At first, I could only run for 10 minutes, but I kept practicing every evening slowly, I built up my strength and confidence.
Now, I run 3 kilometers daily and even volunteered to lead warm—up exercises for my club! This habit taught me that hard work pays off. I also started raising my hand in class, sharing ideas I once kept to myself. Facing these challenges made me braver and more outgoing.
These changes showed me that small efforts matter. In the future, I will keep improving myself by reading more and helping others. I believe growth never stops!重庆市2025年初中毕业生学业水平暨高中招生考试

Ⅵ. 任务型阅读。(65—66小题,每小题2分,67—68小题,每小题3分,共10分)
