Dear Emma.
I hope this email finds you well. I’m thrilled to inform you that our school is planning to host an exhibition of
Chinese intangible traditional culture next Friday afternoon in the school library.
Scheduled from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., the exhibition will involve a variety of intangible cultural heritage items,
ranging from traditional handicrafts to folk music and dance. You will also be amazed by interactive workshops
on paper-cutting and calligraphy. Undoubtedly, this event is not only a golden opportunity for students and
teachers to gain a deeper insight into the charm and richness of Chinese but also will enhance our awareness of
preserving and promoting intangible cultural heritage.

“May I help you with that ” my husband asked kindly. The elderly man looked up, surprised but grateful,
and nodded with a trembling smile. Without hesitation, my husband stepped forward, steadying the glasses as the
man held them. Gently, he filled the second glass with chocolate milk, his movements intentional to avoid spills.
The man whispered a soft “thank you,” with his eyes shining with gratitude. Other diners watched the scene, and
some even paused their conversations to exchange approving looks.
As he sat down, he gave me a small nod, and we continued our meal. The children, having witnessed the
scene, began to chat about what had just happened, their admiration for their father evident in their wide eyes.
“Dad, that was really kind of you!” one of them exclaimed. The atmosphere around our table felt lighter, warmer,
as though the small act of kindness had touched not just the elderly man but everyone in the buffet. It is this
unforgettable experience that constantly reminds me of the power of sympathy to bring people together.
