The Merlin Ride
What is the Merlin Ride
The Merlin Ride starts from the village of Cross Hands,which is 12 miles from Carmarthen af
the end of the M4,making it accessible by car.With multiple distances on offer,it's suitable for a
wide range of riders who want to put themselves to the test.
What routes are on offer
The 90km route includes a 1,100m of climbing,although to be fair almost all of it is on gently
rolling roads.
Moving up to the 110km route might not seem like much of an increase in distance but the extra
20km includes some of the toughest riding,taking in the long climb from the village of Trecastle
towards the Usk Reservoir.
The 165km route is a bit of a monster,featuring some sharper climbs that will test even the
strongest of climbers.Later in the route,climbers rejoin the middle distance route to take in the Usk
Reservoir section.
There will be feed stations along the route:Full mechanical support is also offered,as is first
aid

Pre-Registration for the event is from 7 p.m.on Saturday 10th August at County Cycles,Unit 1,
22B Heol Stanllyd.Registration on 11th August is from 6:30 a.m.A post-ride meal is also expected
to be arranged.And as all funds raised will be donated to the local hospital,you're not just rlding tor
yourself but also to promote a great cause.
