Subject Healthcare and Education in the US and China
Dear Lu Jian, last time, you talked about health care and education in the United States. I have been in the
United States for two years and have a general understanding of them. Now I will tell you something about them
in the United States and compare China’s, so that you can better understand.
The healthcare and education in the US and China are very different. In the US, they are very expensive.
Many Americans have to pay a lot of money for hospital visits. For education, students often need to borrow
money from banks to go to college, and they spend many years paying it back. This makes life very hard for
some people.
In China, things are different. Our government works hard to make healthcare and education affordable for
everyone. For example, most Chinese people can see a doctor without spending too much money. Also, public
schools in China are free for nine years, and college fees are much lower than those in the US. This helps
students focus on their studies instead of worrying about money. I feel proud of China because our country cares
about its people. The government tries to make life better for everyone.
In conclusion, China’s healthcare and education systems show how much our country values its people. I
love China, and I will do my best to help my country grow.

Have you ever searched for a true friend You may expect to get love and care from a good friendship. Well,
you don’t have to go far to find them. Why don’t you find a new friend-yourself Because no one knows and loves
you better than yourself.
Loving yourself, also called self-love, means treating yourself as kindly as you treat others. Imagine your best
friend is worried or dispirited, how you would cheer them up. Do the same things for yourself. Becky, the writer of
“Create Your Own Confidence”, says self-love includes speaking to yourself with kindness and taking good care of
both your body and mind.
Studies show that self-love is good for your schoolwork, health, and friendships. Self-love makes you believe
in yourself. It gives you confidence to face challenges and do things better. It makes you feel that you deserve good
things, such as kind friends and fun experiences.
Here are some ways to love yourself.
Be kind to yourself. When you make a mistake, don’t get angry with yourself. Tell yourself that everyone
makes mistakes sometimes. Then work out what you could do differently next time.
Stop comparing yourself with others. Remember no one is perfect. Concentrate on your own progress.
Write down your strengths. Make a list like “I am creative” or “I never give up”. Read it often to remind
yourself how amazing you are.
Self-love is about learning to accept yourself and loving who you are. When you become your own friend, you’
ll always have support. You’ll feel braver to try new things and happier to enjoy life’s little joys because your true
friend-yourself is always there, ready to offer love, courage, and warmth.
66. What does loving yourself mean
A. Always staying alone. B. Buying many gifts for yourself.
C. Not talking to others. D. Being as kind to yourself as to others.
67. When you make a mistake, what should you do
A. Punish yourself hard. B. Blame it on someone else.
C. Be angry with yourself. D. Tell yourself that everyone makes mistakes.
68. Which should not be on the list mentioned in the passage
A. My friends think I'm helpful. B. I’m good at playing soccer.

70. What’s the best title for the passage
A. Believe in Yourself B. Be a Friend of Yourself
C. Learn from Past Mistakes D. Treat People with Love and Care
第二节 阅读表达(共 5 题;每题 2 分,满分 10 分) 阅读下面短文,简略回答问题。
Learning to be polite in a new language isn’t easy. Every language has special ways to show respect, and
knowing how to use these rules is very important.
One simple way to make your English sound more polite is to use modal verbs. You probably already know
modal verbs like “could”, “would”, “might” and “shall”, While these verbs are used to talk about ability or
possibility, they’re also a great way to make your English sound softer and more polite, especially when you are
asking questions. For example, asking someone “Do you want to have dinner with me ” sounds direct. But if you
use a modal verb “Would you like to have dinner with me ” it sounds much nicer! Modal verbs are also used when
you make requests. “Could you open the window, please ” sounds much softer than just “Open the window, please.”
Another way to sound more polite in English is to use the passive voice. This is useful in situations where it
might be rude to directly point out someone’s actions or mistakes. For example, “The computer wasn’t turned off.”
sounds nicer than “Bob forgot to turn off the computer.”
You can also use the past tense. For example, when you check into a hotel, the waiter might ask “Did you need
any help with your luggage ” Even though the past tense is usually used to describe things that have already
happened, in this case, it’s a polite way to ask if you need help with your luggage.
These tips will help make your English sound more considerate (体贴的) and respectful!

Do you usually do some exercise In my opinion, exercise is important for both our health and study.
First, exercise keeps us fit. It makes our heart and body strong. It also gives us more energy. Second, exercise does
good to our study. It makes us relaxed and brings us an active mind. I ride my bike to school in the morning and run
for 20 minutes in the evening. On weekends, I often play football with my friends. I get enough exercise every day.
Try to find your ways to get exercise. Remember to take short exercise when you get tired after a long time study.
Exercise is really good for everyone. Let's keep exercising every day!
