I read an article about plants today. The right plants often make your home more beautiful, and even make the air cleaner. The article also gives a few tips to help you look after indoor plants.
Choose the right plants
It’s true that some plants are hard to take care of. Plants like orchids (兰花) are beautiful to look at but they are difficult to keep alive. If you are not good at gardening, these plants won’t last very long in your home.
▲ , but that doesn’t mean you should give up keeping plants in your home. Many other kinds of plants are much easier to take care of and they will grow well with very little care. Many are also lovely and pleasing to the eye.
Know a plant’s lighting needs
Many people want to have plants in their home. They care about watering their plants without knowing how much light the plants need. Sunlight is an important part of a plant’s ability (能力) to produce food for itself. So you can put a note on most plants to tell how much sunlight a plant needs through the day. Some plants need quite a lot and they should be put by a window. Others can be put further inside a room or in a corner. There, they will only get a bit of light each day.
59.Which can be put in ▲
A.Some plants are not beautiful B.You may spend much money on plants
C.It may take you time to take care of plants D.You might not be able to take good care of such plants
60.What does the underlined word “Others” refer to (指的是)
A.Plants needing little sunlight. B.Plants needing a lot of water.

Confidence means feeling sure of yourself and your abilities. When you have confidence, you trust yourself to make good decisions and do things well, whether it’s speaking in public, taking a test, or learning a new skill. Confidence helps you try new things without fear of failure (失败). For example, if you are confident, you are more likely to speak up in class or at work because you believe your ideas are valuable (有价值的)
Even if things don’t go perfectly, confidence allows you to keep trying and learning from mistakes. Confidence grows with practice and experience. The more you do something, the more you trust yourself to succeed. Sometimes, you might not feel confident at first, but you can build it by taking small steps and focusing on what you can do.
There are three steps to build up our self-confidence. Firstly, we must believe in ourselves. This is the key part. We need to keep telling ourselves that although we can’t perform a task perfectly, we are still able to make some changes. More importantly, we should always remind ourselves that we can truly make a difference. Next, it’s better to start with easy tasks. As the saying goes, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” Achieving small victories (成就) will greatly stimulate us. Finally, we should make progress by solving more challenging (挑战性的) problems. Every problem we solve, no matter how difficult, is a step closer to greater confidence.
In short, confidence is an important part of achieving goals, as it gives you the courage to face challenges and trust in your abilities.
62.What does confidence help you do according to the text
A.Refuse new challenges. B.Fear failure more often.
C.Try new things without fear. D.Doubt (怀疑) your abilities.
63.What does the underlined word “stimulate” mean in Paragraph 3
A.encourage B.attack C.balance D.correct
64.How can we make progress in building up our self-confidence
A.By avoiding difficult situations. B.By solving more difficult problems.
C.By depending on others’ help all the time. D.By repeating mistakes in mind.
65.What is the best title of the text
A.Reasons and Ways to Build Confidence
B.Proper Time to Build Confidence
C.Different Opinions about Building Confidence

Hi, I’m Betty. Your teacher has asked me to talk to you all about doing volunteer work in Africa. I worked in South America a few years ago, and then in Africa last year for six months. It was amazing. There are a lot of jobs for volunteers in Africa. I chose to work with animals and I helped look after young elephants. Many people do volunteer work in other countries. But you must think about it carefully. It isn’t an easy work. You have to work for long hours and sometimes things are very different from those in your own country. For example, the weather is sometimes terrible. It can be very hot or very cold. People who volunteer should be healthy, and also interested in different cultures. You learn a lot of new things when you work as a volunteer. Also, you don’t work on your own. You work with a team. So you need to have good communication skills. If you think it’s right for you, then you can call me at 334-1665 for more information.Q: Where did the speaker stay for six months last year
