第一节(每空一词,每题 1 分,共 6 分)
A Daughter’s Letter
Dear Mum,
①Today is my birthday. I’m writing you this letter because I want you to know how much I love you.
②A few days ago, we learned an English poem named Mom Knows Best. I felt strong mother’s love
between the lines, and it reminded me of you, Mum! In class, Miss Li recalled that what her mum had done for
her and how her mum had encouraged her. But she mentioned that she felt really regretful because she had no
chance to say “I love you” to her mum, for her mother had passed away. This made me think a lot. It seems that I’
ve never told you “I love you”, so I can’t wait to write the letter.
③I still remember the times when you held my hand and counted steps with me as we walked along. You
told me stones about the brave elephant and encouraged me to be a girl with a positive attitude. I also remember
that in our small flat, you read books at your desk while I played with my toys on the bed nearby. In cool autumns,
we took many walks along the street, chatting and laughing together. My childhood was filled with these warm
memories. Now, I see what an influence you’ve had on my life.
④Time flies and so much has happened. There have been good and bad times, successes and failures, but
you were always by my side. When I won the swimming prize, you smiled and said you were proud of me. When
I failed my math exam, you encouraged me and said that everything would be fine. Your words helped me to deal
with all my difficulties. Now, whenever I have problems, I always think of your words and they really help me so
much.
⑤Mum, because of you, I’m brave and strong; because of you, I’m full of power and energy; because of
you, I’m living a wonderful life. I can’t help but say, “Mum, I love you!”

Huang Xuhua, the main designer of China’s first-generation nuclear submarines (核潜艇), passed away at
the age of 99 in Wuhan. Huang spent his whole life on the development of China’s nuclear submarine program.
Born in Guangdong in 1926, Huang grew up during wartime. He studied shipbuilding at Shanghai Jiao
Tong University and joined the Communist Party of China in 1949. In 1958, he was chosen to lead a secret
project: designing China’s first nuclear-powered submarine. At that time, China had no experience in this field,
and foreign countries refused to share their technology.
Huang and his team met huge challenges, and they collected information from newspapers and studied two
American submarines. Without computers, they used simple tools like abacuses ( 算 盘 ) and rulers. To avoid
mistakes, three groups checked every count. Although the project was stopped from 1962 to 1965 for they were
short of money, Huang never gave up.
Finally, in 1970, China successfully built its first nuclear submarine, becoming the fifth country in the
world to do so. Huang’s name was kept secret until 1987 because the project was highly confidential (保密的).
Even in his nineties, Huang worked daily to teach young engineers and share his knowledge. He also cared about
what he could do to help future generations grow much more healthily. His first submarine is now displayed in a
museum, and he received China’s highest honor, the Medal of the Republic, in 2019.

Is the rise of AI doctors like something out of science fiction No, it is truly happening now. In different
parts of China, we can clearly see how AI is bringing big changes to the medical field .
In February 2025, Beijing Children’s Hospital introduced China’s first AI children’s doctor. One day, an
8-year-old boy had sudden and unexplained epilepsy (癫痫). Thirteen top doctors tried hard to find out the best
treatment. At the same time, the AI quickly looked into the boy’s medical history and symptoms (症状). In just a
few minutes, it came up with a plan that was very similar to what the human doctors thought .
In Shandong, a worried couple decided to try an Al tool called DeepSeek when their child felt unwell. After
the couple offered the blood test results, DeepSeek suggested that the boy probably had a bad cold and
recommended some medicine. Surprisingly when they went to the hospital, the doctor prescribed (开处方) th e
exact same medicine .
Even in places that don’t have many medical resources, like some community hospitals in Wuhan and
countrysides in Shandong, AI is giving a helping hand. All these real-life examples show us two important things
that AI technology can do. It can help top doctors make better decisions and it can also make everyone in the
country get health care more easily. However, the discussions are still going on. As one doctor said, “AI
technology can give us ideas, but the care and judgment (判断) that humans bring are still needed. ”

52.Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage
A.AI is only used in big cities, not in small areas.
B.With the help of AI, human doctors don’t need to think too much.
C.DeepSeek’s treatment plan matched the human doctors’ correctly.
D.The AI in Beijing Children’s Hospital took hours to create a treatment plan.

her and how her mum had encouraged her. But she mentioned that she felt really regretful because she had no
chance to say “I love you” to her mum, for her mother had passed away. This made me think a lot. It seems that
I’ve never told you “I love you”, so I can’t wait to write the letter.
