In sentence (a), a woman is swimming. In other words,

uses -ing. But in sentence (b), people are frightened. As a
result, passive voice is used. So the author uses -ed.

Our school organized this activity in our school hall last Friday, whose theme was to
call on people to change their daily habits to protect the earth. For example, I used to have
