Lacquer fans are amazing fans from China, and their history dates back to the Han Dynasty. Later, lacquer fans became one of the top collections in the art world during the Tang Dynasty.
Lacquer is a natural material taken from the lacquer tree. It was first used to coat wooden objects to protect them from water and insects. Over time, workers began to use lacquer to make and decorate fans.
Lacquer fans are made with bamboo or wooden frames (框架). Traditionally, they are painted with different subjects and patterns (图案) such as flowers, birds, and figures (人物), to make them more beautiful. Although the methods of making fans continue to develop, skilled workers still use traditional skills to create lacquer fans, keeping this ancient art form alive.
Nowadays, lacquer fan painting is one of the most popular activities among young people, which is considered a new form of expression of lacquer art. Instead of using traditional tools such as brushes, lacquer fan painting is done only by the lacquer and water. The process is quite simple: people first choose the colors they want to use, drop the colored lacquer into the water, mix it, put the fans in the water for a while, and then take them out. And that’s it.
Making each fan is like opening a blind box, as no one can know how the product will be like before it turns out. So every fan is special.
For centuries, lacquer fans have been loved for their beauty. And they are becoming increasingly popular among young people nowadays.

How to Make Full Use of the 15-minute Break
A well-planned break can refresh both our body and mind. Here are some practical suggestions.
First, take a short rest. Long hours of studying strain our eyes and brains. Closing eyes for 2-3 minutes or enjoying the green view outside the window can relax our eyes and clear our minds, helping us focus better in the next class.
Second, do light activities. A short walk in the corridor or simple stretches can energize our bodies. Chatting with classmates about fun topics is also a great way to relieve stress.
Third prepare for the next class. Spend 3-5 minutes reviewing the textbook and organizing stationery like pens and notebooks. This simple step ensures we start the next lesson calmly and avoid last-minute rush.
By balancing rest, activity, and preparation, the 15-minute break becomes a perfect chance to recharge. It boosts study efficiency and helps form healthy habits. Let’s make every break meaningful!
