In 2024, 56-year-old Madonna returned with a new album, and the tight jaw line and smart muscle state on the red carpet set off a hot search. What is Madonna’s “reverse growth password” How did she go from postpartum (产后的) depression to red carpet queen
Sophie Chen, her postpartum restorer and New York’s top physical therapist (治疗师), revealed for the first time: “Madonna receives acupuncture (针灸) twice a week, focusing on the ‘triangle of facial rejuvenation (回春)’. Combined with body acupuncture to regulate endocrine (内分泌), the body fat rate decreased from 22% to 18% and the collagen (胶原蛋白) density increased by 37% within 6 months.”
Madonna said in the documentary: “I am not fighting against aging, but letting my body remember the feeling of being young.” The wisdom of acupuncture is precisely to achieve “elegant aging” by regulating the self-healing of the human body.
When western technology meets eastern philosophy, this 3 mm silver needle may be the key to a “healthy life.”
Nowadays, acupuncture has been widely applied in more than 190 countries and regions around the world, serving as a window for the world to understand traditional Chinese medicine. In Brazil, acupuncture is highly popular among the people. In 2006, the Brazilian Ministry of Health decided to incorporate acupuncture into the Brazilian Unified Health System. Many TV hosts in S o Paulo often use acupuncture and tuina massage to relax and regulate their bodies.
As we continue to explore the wonders of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture stands out as a shining example of the wisdom of our ancestors. Whether you are seeking relief from pain, looking to improve your overall well-being, or simply curious about alternative therapies, acupuncture is definitely worth learning more about.

Snow’s appeal is more than just a fond nostalgia (怀旧) for childhood days away from school. Just a few degrees’ difference can turn a depressing rainy day into a magical scene straight out of a snow globe. Of course, snow has its haters, but there are some powerful scientific reasons why many people are enamored by gently falling ice crystals.
Snow can be a powerful reminder of childhood snow days. But there are also plenty of reasons why snow can appeal to people without that fond nostalgia. In fact, says psychologist and writer Kari Leibowitz, snow quite literally alters our physical experience of the world. For example, freshly fallen snow is able to absorb sound well, almost muting the world.
And it plays even more strongly on our sense of sight. “There’s something about the clean, fresh, white snow that is very aesthetically (美学) pleasing,” says Leibowitz, who has written a book about mental health in winter. One aspect of that visual appeal is the way snow reflects light in the darker months and the brightening effect of the snow is really powerful.
Snow often nudges people into interacting with their surroundings differently as well, Leibowitz says. “I think the snow and the ice give us things to engage with in a sensory way that can be very playful and very childlike.”
Leibowitz advocates adopting a mindset that embraces changing seasons, which can help people stay open to snow’s potential charms. “I think, in many places in the U. S., we may mislead ourselves into thinking, ‘I’m just going to do everything the same and throw on a coat and a hat and call it a day,’” she says. “We’re not adapting enough; we’re not changing our behavior enough. And so then all of these things like the cold and the darkness are just a burden.”
Leibowitz recommends slowing down in the winter, taking inspiration from the long nights and cold days — and argues that snow can be a helpful cue to do so.
8 What does the underlined word “enamored” in paragraph 1 probably mean
A. Annoyed. B. Fascinated. C. Changed. D. Protected.
9. Why can snow change people’s physical experience of the world
A. It can make the outside world quieter. B. It can affect people’s sight physically.
C. It can arouse people’s nostalgic memory. D. It can produce light to the darker months.
10. What do Leibowitz’s words in paragraph 5 imply
A. People should learn the mindset of Americans.
B. People should lead themselves to enjoy daily life.
C. People should adapt themselves to the changing seasons.
D. People should consider the cold and darkness as a burden.
11. What can be the best title for the passage
A. The Childlike Joy of Snow B. Snow: A Nostalgic Delight
C. Exploring Physics in Winter D. Embracing Winter’s Beauty
D
Under your feet lies the world’s biggest water resource. Groundwater makes up 97% of all usable freshwater. We see it when it rises to the surface in springs, in caves, or when we pump it up for use. While groundwater is often hidden, it supports ecosystems around the world and is a vital resource for people.
You might think groundwater would be protected from climate change, given it’s underground. But as the atmosphere continues to heat up, more and more heat is penetrating (渗入) underground. There is already considerable evidence that the subsurface is warming. The heat shows up in temperature measurements taken in boreholes (钻孔) around the world.
International scientists have worked to model how groundwater will heat up in the future. Under a realistic middle of the road greenhouse gas emission plan, with a projected average global atmospheric temperature rise of 2.7℃, groundwater will warm by an average of 2.1℃ by 2100, compared to 2000. This warming varies by region and is delayed by decades compared to the surface, because it takes time to heat up the underground mass.
You might wonder what the consequences of hotter groundwater will be.
First, the good news is that although warming beneath the land’s surface is trapping 25 times less energy than the ocean, it is still significant. This heat is stored in layers down to tens of metres deep, making it easier to access. We could use this extra heat to sustainably warm our homes by tapping into it just a few meters below the surface. The heat can be extracted using heat pumps, powered by electricity from renewable energies.
Unfortunately, the bad news is likely to far outweigh the good. Warmer groundwater is harmful for the life found underground — and for many plants and animals that depend on groundwater for their survival. Any changes in temperature can seriously disrupt the circumstance they have adapted to.
12. What can we infer from paragraph 1
A. All groundwater will flow to the surface. B. 97% of groundwater is usable freshwater.
C. The groundwater matters a lot to the world. D. Ecosystems support the hidden groundwater.
13. Why is subsurface water warming
A Because groundwater is under the surface of the earth.
B. Because it takes time to transfer the heat underground.
C. Because global warming makes the heat go underground.
D. Because the warming is regionally transported and varied.
14. What is the potential benefit of hotter groundwater
A. It is a large heat pump to produce electricity.
B. It provides people with 25 times heat energy.
C. It improves the survival rate of underground life.
D. It is an alternative heat source for home warming.
15. What could be the author’s attitude towards hotter groundwater
A. Concerned. B. Neutral. C. Optimistic. D. Indifferent.

It was the third week in her new college but Radha was still struggling. A shy and timid (胆怯的) girl from the small town of Chikmagalur, Radha had moved to Bangalore to pursue her degree in Economics. Although the idea of studying at a famous college excited her, the reality of being away from her family and the lack of confidence to talk to her classmates made her feel lonely and homesick.
She always sat quietly in class, not interacting much with her new classmates. Sometimes, Radha would glance at her classmates laughing together, her fingers nervously tracing the words “Hi, I’m Radha” in her notebook — a greeting she never dared to say aloud. On most days, she found herself crying in the classroom, overwhelmed by the newness of it all.
One morning, Radha’s classmate, Nisha, arrived at the classroom a little earlier than usual. The whole room was empty with only Radha sitting at her desk, her face buried in her arms, her shoulders shaking. Nisha wondered if she should ask Radha what was wrong. She hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. Wanting to respect her privacy, Nisha pretended not to notice and quietly took her seat.
In the next few weeks, Nisha paid a little more attention than usual to Radha. She kept her distance, not wanting to bother. But it always seemed Radha was under stress of some sort. She wondered what could be troubling Radha so much.
One afternoon, after finishing her classes for the day, Nisha was on her way to the gym when she spotted Radha standing at the edge of the road, looking lost and unsure. She seemed nervous about crossing the road.
Nisha quickly walked up to her. “Hey, Radha! Need some help ” she asked, her voice friendly. Radha looked up, surprised. “Oh, hi, Nisha. I… I’m just trying to figure out how to cross this road,” she said, her voice soft.
注意:1.续写词数应为150词左右;
2.请按如下格式作答。

Nisha smiled wramly and stepped forward to offer help. She gently took Radha’s hand and guided her across the bustling street, explaining how to watch for the right moment to step. Radha, feeling a sense of relief and gratitude, thanked Nisha for her kindness. As they walked, Nisha shared stories of her own initial struggles when she first moved to the city, making Radha feel less alone in her experience. With Nisha’s open and understanding nature making Radha feel more at ease, the connection between them began to form.
“Why don’t we start with lunch together tomorrow ” said Nisha. Radha hesitated for a moment, then nodded eagerly. It was the first time she had been invited to socialize, and the thought of making a new friend brought a smile to her face. As they were apart, Radha felt a weight lift off her shoulders. She realized she wasn’t alone after all, and there were people who cared. This small act of friendship from Nisha marked the beginning of Radha’s journey to overcome her shyness and integrate into her new environment.
