知识梳理
1.instead of 介词短语，意为 代替，而不是...
后面接名词，代词 ，动名词充当宾语，一般位于句中。
e.g. We'll ask LiMei instead of WangMing
They went there on foot instead of by bus.
拓展：instead ；作为副词，意为 “代替，替代”。

2.satisfy/'s t sfa /v.使满意，使满足；使确信，使……消除疑虑；偿还，补偿；令人满意
eg：Some people are very hard to satisfy.
有些人很难使其满意。
satisfy 的用法：
satisfy＋n./pron.使……满意
eg：The result of the test satisfied the teachers.
测试结果使老师们很满意。
satisfy＋n./pron.＋that从句 使……相信……
eg：You must satisfy me that your story is true.
你必须使我相信你的故事是真的。
satisfy sb.of sth.使某人确信某事；使某人相信某事
eg：He tried hard to satisfy me of his sincerity.
他竭力让我相信他的诚意。
satisfied为其形容词形式，常用短语：
be satisfied with sb./sth.对某人/某事感到满意
eg：I'm not satisfied with your work. You must improve it.
我对你的工作不满意，你必须加以改进。

One of its jobs is to protect important cultural sites. It has recognized many famous places in China. Can you name some of these places

It is not always easy for the members to reach an agreement.Just imagine how difficult it is to satisfy all 193 members!However,the UN is still the best way for
the world to solve its problems. Let's hope that the great idea they had in 1945 to prevent war will last forever.

1. satisfy
作及物动词，意为“满足、使……满意”，后加名词或代词作宾语。
The pace of change has not been quick enough to satisfy everyone. 变化的速度还不够快，还不能让所有人满意。
e.g.
satisfied是形容词，意为“满意的”，用在短语be satisfied with 中，意为“对……感到满意”。

　We all love peace and hate war. War brings suffering to people. How can we put an end to war？Imagine you are representing China at the United Nations. Make a speech about how the United Nations should work to prevent war.

3. It is not always easy for the members to reach agreement. 对所有成员达成一致不是很容易的。

句中的for the members to reach agreement是动词不定式复合机构作真正主语，前面的 it是形式主语，is not是系词，easy是形容词作表语。不定式复合结构有两种形式：
1. In the early twentieth century, people suffered through many wars. 20世纪初, 人们在很多战争中受苦受难。
suffer “受痛苦;受苦难”
suffer from “受·····的苦”
eg：The patient is still suffering. 病人仍很痛苦。
I am suffering from a headache. 我正在遭受头痛之苦。
Language Points
through “在整个······期间; 从头至尾”
eg：He studied his project through the night.
他研究他的课题研究了一整夜。
I will read through the novel.
我要把这本小说从头至尾看一遍。
这里使用介词for或of与前面的形容词有关，如果前面的形容词是kind, nice, good, polite, rude, pleased, happy, clever, foolish, wrong, careful, right 等往往用介词of，其他情况往往用介词for。
It’s very of you to do so. 你能这样做太好了。
e.g.
2. The headquarters of the UN is in New York City. 联合国总部在纽约市。
headquarters“总部, 总机构;司令部,指挥部”,单复同形,做主语时, 根据句意确定单复数。
eg：A headquarters was set up to direct the battle.
建立了一个司令部来指挥战斗。
The two headquarters are near. 那两个总部离得很近。
