Liam watched in awe as Jake approached the food, ate a bit, and then stepped back, as if inviting the other dog to join. Hesitantly, the stray crept forward, eyes still on Liam. With Jake beside it, the dog finally started eating. Over the next few days, with Jake’s company, the stray grew bolder, even allowing Liam to stroke its head gently.
Luckily, the small dog slowly began to settle into its new home. Liam named it Goldie, for its golden fur. Jake became Goldie’s constant companion, showing it around the house and yard. At first, Goldie was skittish, jumping at every noise. But with patience and love, it learned to trust. Liam set up a cozy bed for Goldie next to Jake’s. One evening, he found them curled up together, fast asleep. Goldie’s ribs were no longer visible, and its coat regained its shine. Looking at his two dogs, Liam felt a warmth in his heart, knowing that he’d not only saved a life but also created a beautiful bond between them.
