红火蚁蔓延带来的威胁
Australia’s ecosystems are in danger because of the invasion (入侵) of the red fire ant, which is considered one of the most harmful invasive species in the world.
The small ant is native to South America, but has spread to many countries in the world, causing huge harm to agriculture and ecosystems.
It not only destroys crops and farms but also kills large numbers of native insects, and other animals. The ant’s painful sting (蜇伤) can cause serious allergies (过敏) in humans, which might even lead to death. The Minister for Agriculture calls these ants “super pests (害虫)” because they do great harm to society, the economy, and the environment.
Red fire ants were first found in Australia in 2001. They have largely been contained within the state of Queensland since then. However, Australia’s Invasive Species Council (ISC) says the ants are spreading across the country because of floodwaters. They are holding onto each other to form “rafts (木筏)” on the water.
The ISC said, “Red fire ants are more active before or after rainfall and can form large floating rafts, which move with the flow of the water to find places to stand in new areas.” It warned that the red fire ants would reach “every corner of Australia” if the current (目前的) outbreak was not under control.

Li Ziqi Shines at the 2025 CCTV Spring Festival Gala
Li Ziqi, a Chinese Internet star famous for sharing traditional skills, made her first appearance at the 2025 CCTV Spring Festival Gala. Her performance became one of the most exciting moments of the show.
A Magical Opening Scene
The gala started with Li Ziqi standing on stage. When the camera focused on her, large butterfly wings made with Weifang kite and gold-weaving skills opened behind her. Robotic butterflies flew around her, creating a beautiful scene. This mix of modern technology and traditional art surprised the audience (观众).
A Dress Full of Traditional Skills
Li’s dress showed many traditional crafts (工艺). It used plant dyeing (coloring cloth with leaves), bamboo weaving, and Qiang embroidery (羌绣). The butterfly designs on her dress included Chengdu lacquer (漆) art and Yingshan silk flowers. In total, 13 different intangible cultural heritage (非遗) skills were used. “Every part of this dress tells a story from the past,” Li said.
Why It Matters
As a “Sichuan ICH Ambassador (大使)”, Li’s performance taught young people about traditional arts. After the show, many viewers searched online to learn about these skills. “I never knew bamboo weaving could be so interesting,” wrote a teenage fan on the social media.
Li Ziqi proved that old traditions can live in modern times. Her performance reminded everyone: the cultural heritage is not just history—it is a treasure for the future.
