一、短语和造句练习（练习、背诵部分）
1 师生关系
（1）悉心的呵护： give...meticulous care
（2）一日为师，终生为父：Once a teacher, always a father.
（3）对我们敬爱的老师表达感激： extend our sincere/deepest gratitude to our honorable teachers
（4）尊重、尊敬和钦佩敬爱的老师们： respect, honor and admire our beloved teachers
（5）老师像蜡烛，燃烧了自己，照亮了别人：Teachers are like candles, lighting others and consuming themselves.
2 同窗情谊
（1）珍惜这份永恒的情谊 cherish our eternal companions
（2）友谊地久天长 keep our friendship lasting forever
（3）珍惜这种团结的精神 treasure the spirit of cooperation and collaboration
（4）患难见真情。 A friend in need is a friend indeed.
（5）和朋友走在黑暗中要好过独自走在光明中。
Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.
3 尊敬老人
（1）尊敬老人是中华民族的传统美德。To respect the elderly is a traditional Chinese virtue.
（2）这份礼物不仅表达了我对……的敬意，同样也提醒着我，我应该花更多的时间陪伴他/她/他们。
This gift not only shows my respect to…, but (also) reminds me that I should spend more time with him/her/them.
4 拓展：爱心帮助
（1）毫不犹豫的帮助某人：offer assistance/a helping hand to sb. without hesitation.
（2）送人玫瑰，手有余香：The roses in her hand; the flavor in mine.
（3）勿以善小而不为：We must do good rather than evil, on however humble a scale.
（4）为别人点一盏灯，也照亮了自己：If you light a lamp for somebody, it will also brighten your path.
5 参观郊游
（1）放松身心： relax sb. mentally and physically
例句：上周末，学校为了让我们能放松身心组织了一次春游。
e.g. Last weekend, our school organized a “Spring Outing”, hoping to relax us mentally and physically.
（2）激发热情： spark/fuel one’s enthusiasm
例句：这迷人的景色激发了我将中国传统文化传播到世界各个角落的热情。
e.g. The breathtaking scenery sparks/fuels my enthusiasm for spreading Chinese culture to every single inch of the world.
（3）大饱眼福： feast one’s eyes on/upon
例句：外宾们观赏了这座城市的古老建筑，大饱眼福。
e.g. Foreign visitors feasted their eyes on the old buildings in this city.
（4）扩大……的知识面： expand one’s knowledge base
例句：我们可以利用去国外做交换生的机会扩大我们的知识面。
e.g. The chance of being exchange students can be used to expand our knowledge bases.
（5）开阔……的眼界： broaden one’s horizons/mind
例句：越来越多的人相信旅游能开阔人的眼界。
e.g. An increasing number of people believe that travelling will broaden their horizons.
（6）丰富……的生活： enrich one’s life/experience
例句：旅行的意义，不仅在于欣赏美景，也在于丰富我们的生活。
e.g. The meaning of travelling lies not only in enjoying beautiful sceneries, but enriching our lives as well.
（7）扩展……的视野： expand one’s vision
例句：国外游学的经历，不仅激发了我对学习的兴趣，也扩展了我的视野。
e.g. The experience of studying and travelling abroad not only stimulated my interest in learning, but also expanded my vision.
（8）没有什么比……更让人……的了：nothing is more doing than doing...
例句：没有什么比在这样美好的天气出去郊游更让人神清气爽的了。
e.g. Nothing is more refreshing than going for an outing on such a beautiful day.
（9）感受……的优雅与魅力： feel the grace and charm of ……
例句：显然，他们得到了一个很好的机会去感受颐和园的优雅与魅力。
e.g. Apparently, they are given a golden opportunity to feel the grace and charm of the Summer Palace.
（10）读万卷书不如行万里路。
Learn more by travelling a thousand miles than by reading a thousand books.
*6 环保节能
（1）保持生态平衡：keep ecological balance
（2）生存空间有限和自然资源匮乏的挑战：the challenges of limited living space and a shortage of natural resources
例句：到目前为止，我们的社会一直面临着生存空间有限和自然资源匮乏的挑战。
e.g. Up to now, our society has been faced with the challenges of limited living space and a shortage of natural resources.
（3）提升了……的社会意识：promote one’s social awareness
（4）号召周围的人共同做一些有益的事：call on people around us to do sth. good together

7 志愿服务
（1）某人致力于……工作： dedicate/devote oneself to...
例句：这名女演员现在致力于儿童慈善工作。
e.g. The actress now dedicates herself to children’s charity work.
（2）缩短人与人之间的距离： shorten the distance among people
例句：我们相信，一个小小的善举能够缩短人与人之间的距离。
e.g. We hold the belief that a simple act of kindness could shorten the distance among people.
（4）为这个世界带来温暖： bring warmth to the world
例句：尽管我们所做的事情很小很简单，但我们在尽力为这个世界带来一些温暖。
e.g. Although what we do is small and simple, we are trying our best to bring warmth to the world.
（5）尽自己的一份力去帮助他人：do our part in helping others
例句：作为高中生，我们不仅需要努力学习，也需要尽自己的一份力去帮助他人。
e.g. As senior high students, we need not only work hard, but do our part in helping others.
（7）提升社会意识：promote our social awareness
例句：只有以这样的方式，我们才能提升社会意识。
e.g. Only in this way can we promote our social awareness.
