第一节 (满分 15 分) (One possible version)
Green Actions, Creative Solutions
To promote sustainability, I propose the Book Tree Recycling Program, a project designed to
transform waste into wonder!
As part of my program, I will place attractively decorated bins on campus to facilitate the
collection of used books. Reusable books can go to our free book corner while damaged books can
become materials for artworks, which will be exhibited monthly to highlight the creativity.
We can save piles of books through this simple solution yearly while raising students’
eco-awareness. By giving damaged books new life, we’ll build a greener, more creative campus.
Join me in turning trash into treasure!
第二节 (满分 25 分) (One possible version)
She invited Morgan to her family for a meal together. At first, Morgan was hesitant, not
wanting to disturb Greta’s family. But Greta’s warm smile and sincere invitation finally convinced
him to go. When they arrived, the children’s eyes hugely widened in curiosity at the unexpected
visitor, but they quickly welcomed Morgan with their bright smiles. Mason, also, greeted him
warmly, understanding Greta’s kind gesture without hesitation. During the meal, the children
shared their school experiences and funny stories, filling the air with laughter. Morgan, for the first
time in years, felt the warmth of a family, his heart gradually healing as he enjoyed the simple yet
joyful moment.
The experience changed Morgan for good. He decided to start a new chapter in his life. At
first, he regularly visited Greta’s family, offering to do whatever he could to help the family. With
Greta’s help, he found a job to support himself. Then to put forward the kindness, he volunteered
to get contact with the homeless and helped them as Greta had done for him. His story spread
quickly, inspiring others to show kindness. Greta’s genuine act of kindness not only saved one
homeless person from hunger but triggered a series of kindnesses in society.

Text 1
W: It’s already half past three. We’d better hurry up for the performance.
M: Take your time. The performance is to start in 20 minutes.
Text 2
M: Tom’s taking my mum and me to Scotland next weekend.
W: That’s a long way. Are you going by car or by train
M: Neither. We’re going by plane. He will treat us!
Text 3
W: My throat is burning. I’m going to have some ice cream to cool it.
M: Are you joking You have a fever! You need something warm. I’ll make you a cup of tea.
W: Thank you.
Text 4
W: Professor Smith, I’d like to have your advice on my article.
M: It’s good except for some spelling mistakes. What’s more, the first paragraph has nothing to do
with the article.
W: Thank you very much.
Text 5
M: Sally, would you like to go dancing with us tonight
W: Justin, I am just not in the mood for that.
Text 6
W: I’m with Frank Irvine whose exhibition here at the Studio Design Center is attracting quite a
bit of attention. Frank, you’re not that young to be having the first major show.
M: Yes, I was born in 1948, after all.
W: When did you start getting interested in making pots
M: Well, as a child, I was into engines. A bit late in the days, I ever started a degree in physics. But
by the time I was twenty, I realized that there might be something else I wanted to do.
W: So what did you do
M: Well, I started traveling. I went to America first where I met my wife, Carole.
W: And is her father the potter Arthur Saunders
M: Yes. I visited them quite a lot and saw her father working. And finally I asked if I could have a
go. Once I’d started, I couldn’t stop!
Text 7
M: You must be pretty excited about your trip to Europe, Dorothy. When are you leaving
W: In just two weeks, and I am excited. I’ve been looking forward to this training program for a
long time. But there’re still a few things I need to do before I go.
M: Like what
W: Like renewing my passport, and figuring out what to do with my apartment while I’m gone.
M: You are not going to give it up, are you
W: No way. I’ll never find another apartment like it around here. But I don’t like the idea of
paying three months’ rent for an empty apartment either. So I’m looking for someone to take it
while I’m away.
M: Um... let me think. Oh, I know just a person, an old colleague of mine, Jim Thomas. He is
coming here to do some research this summer from June to August.
W: Well, that’s exactly when I’ll be away!
M: I’ll tell you what — I’ll be calling Jim later this week anyway, so I’ll mention it to him.
W: Well, thanks, Bill.
Text 8
M: How often do you use the Internet
2
W: I use it almost every day, but I usually only use it to check my business e-mail and contact my
friends. I don’t often surf the Internet.
M: I use the Internet a lot. I use it to find products at the lowest prices for my company. It can be
upsetting when the connection is poor.
W: So, you’re online eight hours a day.
M: Yes, I like the job, though. Sometimes, I help other people in the office if they’re having
trouble online.
W: How do you find the Internet as a source of information
M: I think it’s fairly useful, but there are some problems.
W: What are the problems
M: First, a lot of information you find online is false. Second, the biggest problem is that people
easily get addicted to it and buy what they don’t need.
Text 9
W: There you are, Ben. The information about the evening classes I sent off for has arrived. Right,
here are the general courses.
M: Flower Arranging. That’s a real course Why would someone want to do that
W: You sit in front of the TV watching baseball for three hours every Saturday and many people
would find that boring, too.
M: OK, relax. Let’s see what else there is...
W: Photography. That looks interesting. It started last week, but I don’t think that would be a
problem.
M: But look at the price. $280 is too much for me. I wonder why it’s so expensive. I don’t think
I can afford it. But, hey, at least it’s cheaper than the Italian Wine course. Look at that — $400.
Web Design for Beginners is pretty cheap. What do you think
W: I don’t want to see a computer in the evening.
M: Hey, look, how about Indian Cooking It starts this week and is a little bit expensive.
W: $190. You know how much I love Indian food. I’ll call them tomorrow to see if there are still
places available.
M: I’ll call them right away.
W: There won’t be anyone there now. We’ll try in the morning.
M: This will be great. We can have our own Indian dinner parties.
Text 10
M: Hi, I’d like to talk to the manager about something. I have to travel every day from Souk Road
to the airport. Only the Number 16 bus travels along this road.
Your timetable is there. It shows that there are buses from Souk Road to the airport every ten
minutes. If so, why do I have to wait half an hour for a bus nearly every day
The rules say that if there are empty seats on a bus, it will just stop at every stop where
people are waiting. Why is it, therefore, that half-empty buses go straight past me when I am
standing at the bus stop
The rules say that no bus may carry more than 40 seated passengers and 20 standing
passengers. Yesterday I was the first to get off the bus when I reached the airport. I counted the
other passengers as they got off. There were 80 of them.
Clearly printed on the back of every bus is a sign that says “highest speed: 50 mph”. The
distance from Souk Road to the airport is 12 miles. On Saturday morning a Number 16 bus
travelled this distance in 10 minutes. At times, it must have done at least 80 or 90 mph.
It is obvious that our bus companies have no respect for the rules or consideration for the
passengers. Can nothing be done about this
