Long long ago, a boy lived in a village. One day, he found a small bamboo plant in the forest. He took it home and planted it behind his house. Every day, he watered it and waited for it to grow. But week after week, the bamboo stayed small. The boy felt sad. “Is it dead ” he wondered.
Several months later, the bamboo still looked the same. The boy almost threw it away. But one morning in spring, he saw a tiny green bamboo pushing up from the ground. Then, day by day, it grew taller and taller! In just a few weeks, it became a tall, strong bamboo tree. When the boy saw it, he couldn’t believe his eyes.
His grandpa explained, “The bamboo was busy growing under the soil all those months. This made the bamboo strong. Then it grew very fast!”
