His father, Mr Lin, smiled while cleaning his glasses. “Oh, Son, those aren’t football fields. In fact, they’re wheat fields, which are very important to Chinese people. ”
“Wheat fields Dad, you must be kidding. They look just like big, green playgrounds!”
“Hey, boy!” A smiling old farmer called beside them. His straw hat (草帽) looked like the ones that Lin Hao had seen in picture books. “Do you see those green fields That’s wheat—the treasure of Henan! We grow enough wheat here to make mantou for everyone in Beijing for a whole year!”

Nowadays, more and more Chinese people, especially young people, are staying up late at night. A survey shows that the bedtime for most Chinese people is 00:18 am, which is 17 minutes later than last year. About 80 percent of college students go to bed after midnight, and one in four of them falls asleep after 2:00 am. About one in three wakes up after 9:00 am.
Mobile phones are an important factor (因素) influencing stud nts’ sleep. The longer they use smartphones, the later they go to bed. They just want to have more free time. The problem is called “revenge bedtime procrastination (报复性睡前拖延)”. Many people have the problem because they have to work or study in the daytime. Though they are very tired, they often stay up late to control their time after work. For example, some people lie on the bed and watch short videos or read novels at midnight. Some people play on their phones until midnight every day.
Most people have sleeping problems now. 65 percent of them have these problems once or twice each week. The problems can be waking up during the night or too early, having trouble falling asleep, going to the bathroom at night, and snoring (打鼾).
Healthy sleeping is not just about sleeping long, but about how well you sleep. To improve sleeping quality (质量), your bedroom should be cool and dark. You can listen to some white noise, like the sound of rain. Also, go to bed and wake up regularly every day. People who often do exercise can sleep better. They have less trouble falling asleep than those who seldom exercise.
So, we should try to have enough sleep and develop good sleeping habits. This is very important for our health and learning.

My Innovation Story
Learning English was always tough for me. I found it hard to remember new words and understand grammar rules. I realized I needed to find a creative way to make learning fun and effective.
I started by making flashcards with interesting pictures and words on them. I carried these flashcards with me everywhere and reviewed them whenever I had free time. I also began to watch English movies with subtitles and tried to imitate the pronunciation of the actors.
This innovative method made a big difference. I found myself enjoying English more and my grades improved. It taught me that with creativity, I can overcome any challenge. Now, I use this method to learn other subjects too.
