Scotland, part of the UK, is in the north of Great Britain Island.
It has three land regions. The Highlands in the north are mountainous with many lakes. The Central Lowlands are hilly and have good farmland. The Southern Uplands have valleys.
Scotland's climate is mild and cool. Its economy depends on services like tourism, finance, and manufacturing.
It is famous for its unique culture. People there wear kilts, and the bagpipe is a traditional instrument. Edinburgh Castle and the mysterious Loch Ness are must-visit places.

Last autumn, my family took a train to Scotland for a holiday. We stayed in a comfortable house in the countryside with beautiful scenery. I live in a big city, so everything seemed so different. For example, beside the house, there was a huge forest.
On the last day, early in the morning, I went to the forest to explore. While there, something made a noise. I turned around and was surprised to see a deer.
I ran home and told my parents what I saw. My mum smiled and said, “The deer is probably looking for food and hoping to get some from you.” What a wonderful experience I had! I really hope I can go back again.

Lucas' Ski Trip
Last winter break, I, Lucas, went to a ski resort in the Canadian Rockies. It was an amazing place with snow-covered mountains everywhere.
I took ski lessons first. At first, I was a bit scared, but with practice, I got better. I raced down the slopes with friends, which was so thrilling! We also built a snowman and had a snowball fight. It was really fun. After skiing, we enjoyed hot chocolate by the fireplace in the lodge. I felt extremely happy and relaxed.
From this trip, I learned that practice makes perfect. Also, safety gear is really important. It was truly an unforgettable holiday!
