He tested over 6,000 substances before discovering the perfect filament. His persistence revolutionized modern lighting.The bulb was made of a glass enclosure, a carbon filament, and metal wires. By combining these with electricity, Edison produced steady, bright light.When electric current passes through the filament, it heats up and emits light.
