Sample Writing
The fisherman was very afraid, but he thought quickly. The genie was big and angry, but maybe not smart. Seeing a storm coming, the fisherman praised the genie, saying, “Wow, you are so big and strong. Can you change your size ” The proud genie happily said, “Of course! I am the strongest in the world!” The fisherman asked. “How big can you get ” The genie got bigger and bigger until he was as big as a mountain. However, he didn't notice the strong storm coming. The storm blew the genie away. The fisherman hid in his hut and watched. “He might be big and strong”, the fisherman said, “but he is too proud!”

The Fisherman and the Genie
Scene one [At the seashore.]
Narrator: A fisherman saw something
surprising in his net.
Fisherman: What’s this shiny thing Oh, it’s a
bottle! I wonder what’s inside.
Narrator: The fisherman opened the bottle.
A great cloud of smoke came out,
and it became a genie…
n. 海岸;海滨
adj. 令人吃惊的
adj. 光亮的;锃亮的
v. 想知道;琢磨
Genie: I’m going to kill you! Prepare to die!
Fisherman: Why Didn’t I set you free from the bottle
Genie:That’s why I’m going to kill you, but I’ll let you choose how you will die.
Fisherman: But why
Narrator: Then the genie told his story.
Genie:A long time ago, I made a promise. If someone set me free, I would make them rich and powerful. But no one ever came. After years and years of waiting, I became very angry. If anyone set me free, I would kill them instead of giving them anything. So you must die, but I will let you choose how you want to die.
For example
Fisherman: Before I die, answer me a question.
Genie:OK.
Fisherman: Were you really in the bottle You are so big and the bottle is so small. I think it could hardly hold one of your feet.
Genie:Of course I was in the bottle. Don’t you believe me
Fisherman: No, and I won’t believe you until I see you in the bottle with my own eyes.
Narrator:When the genie heard this, he changed into a cloud. Slowly the cloud went back into the bottle. When all of him was in the bottle, the fisherman quickly put the lid on and threw it back into the sea.
