And bicycles are much cheaper. The health benefits of the plan are probably well known. Studies have shown that cycling four miles a day halves the risk of heart disease. Another health benefit is that cycling can reduce stress. Well, let me just tell you a bit more about the plan itself. The company will lend you up to a thousand dollars to buy a bike and all the necessary safety equipment. And you won’t have to pay any interest or any tax on that amount. You’ll just repay it over three years. You are allowed to buy two bikes but no more with your loan and that’s if you live a long way from work. This allows you to cycle to your nearest station. Leave one bike there, get a train, pick up the second bicycle at your arrival station and then cycle from there to work.

Some dogs have so many toys that it can be difficult for their owners to remember them all. So it might surprise you to know that, according to a new research, some of our four-legged friends have the ability to remember the names of their toys, especially the well-loved ones, even those they haven’t seen for a long time.
The new study involved five dogs that had taken part in research two years before. The dogs were taught the names of 12 toys. After one month, researchers tested them to see if they could remember the names, and the dogs could. The owners then hid the toys for two years.
In the new study, each owner put the hidden toys on the floor alongside other toys. The owners said the names of the hidden toys and asked the dogs to fetch them. On average, the dogs made correct toy choices 44%. Some of the dogs had a success rate of up to 60%. If the dogs had been totally unable to recognise the names of their toys, they’d have been expected to make the correct choices 20.4% just by chance.
Researcher Shany Dror said the study showed the dogs were storing the names of their toys in their long-term memory. The research team highlighted not all dogs can learn the names of objects, and the reason why some can and others can’t isn’t clear. “Dogs who could learn the names of objects often had owners that spent a lot of time with them. The more you invest (投入) in your dog, the more you will get back from the relationship,” Dror said.
14. How long were the toys hidden in the study
A. Two months. B. Two years. C. One month. D. One year.
15. How did the author show the results in paragraph 3
A. By listing numbers. B. By telling stories.
C. By showing reasons. D. By giving examples.
16. What can be inferred from Dror’s words
A. You will get back more than you invest.
B. You should invest more money in your dog.
C. Better abilities to remember come from more company.
D. Better relationship with your dogs is based on more toys.
17. Which is a suitable title for this text

They say there are three ways to experience the Grand Canyon: on foot, on mules (骡子) or by air. We chose the first. Up early, my husband and I and our three children couldn’t wait to get started. We decided to walk along a lovely path named Bright Angel Trail.
As we set out, I was shocked at how narrow the path was. And I couldn’t help noticing that the other tourists weren’t like us. They had heavy backpacks, water bottles, and hats, but we were dressed as usual. As the sun rose higher, Arizona’s famous heat seemed to roast us. There was no shade (阴凉处) and our legs were aching. We decided to go back, with the girl on my back and the boys far behind. By the time we finally got back, our legs were like jelly.
The next day, after we’d had a long rest and a good breakfast, we were ready for another view of the Canyon — by air. After our last walk, we thought this would be the easiest thing in the world.
We called to each other excitedly as the plane circled around the Canyon. But the smiles on our faces disappeared as the pilot tossed (翻转) the plane around, pretending he was going to hit the ground. I shouted, “STOP, TAKE US BACK!” When we finally arrived back on land, once again our legs were like jelly. We hardly spoke as we drove back.
As I said, there are three ways to view the Grand Canyon. We never tried the mules, but personally I’d suggest a fourth: buy yourself a good magazine like National Geographic. That way, you can see the Canyon, without fear or tiredness.
18. What happened to the author’s family in their first day trip
A. They got badly injured. B. They felt really tired.
C. They reached the destination. D. They got some jelly from other tourists.
19. What do we know about the author’s Canyon trip by air
A. It was very relaxing. B. It turned out to be the easiest.
C. It ended up with a plane crash. D. It was a frightening journey.
20. How does the author sound when making the fourth suggestion
A. Humorous. B. Serious. C. Anxious. D. Annoyed.
21. What is the text
A. An encyclopedia. B. A travel plan.
C. A travel brochure. D. A travel journal.
【答案】18. B 19. D 20. A 21. D
【解析】

We hardly spoke as we drove back.(但当飞行员不停地翻转飞机,装作要撞向地面的时候,我们脸上的笑容消失了。

That way, you can see the Canyon, without fear or tiredness.(正如我所说,有三种观赏大峡谷的方式。

On January 28, 2025, a special performance called YangBOT amazed audiences at the CCTV Spring Festival Gala. Directed by famous filmmaker Zhang Yimou, the show mixed traditional Chinese yangko dance with modern robot technology.
In the performance, humanoid robots dressed in colorful costumes danced yangko. They spun (使……旋转) handkerchiefs instantly and formed creative group patterns. These robots were developed by Unitree, a Chinese robotics company. This was not Unitree's first success. In 2021, their robot cows named “Ben Ben” danced as backup for singer Andy Lau.

Their strong joints, like knees with 360N·m power, helped them balance perfectly during fast steps. Thanks to these innovations, the robots won the hearts of millions. On social media, topics like “Robot Yangko” trended quickly. When I was very young, my mother thought it was necessary for me to learn to play a musical instrument, as most parents do nowadays. She asked me what kind of instrument I was interested in. I didn’t have any idea, but I thought playing the drums was cool and interesting. So she took me to enroll in a drum course in the Children’s Palace, where I spent nearly every Sunday morning for two years, practicing playing the drum.
As time went on, I went to middle school. I joined a band as a drummer in my middle school. I thought it would be fun playing the drum in a team and meeting new friends. At first it was easy because of my constant practice during the primary school, but a month later, it got more and more difficult. I was the only one who couldn’t keep pace with the other players. The band consists of students playing the violin, the piano, the guitar and so on. We were in a team; the music was beautiful, but it seemed rather challenging. So I was in low spirits when playing in the band, and the joy of playing music began to fade.
Our teacher, Ms Miller, noticed my struggle and singled me out to keep practicing while everyone else got to relax. With each missed beat, I felt ashamed as my teammates watched me fail so many times. Finally I got so tired of practicing that I no longer cared if it was done right.
“Are you giving up, Steve ” Ms Miller asked gently.
“Yes, I am,” I shouted. Ms Miller sent me inside the music room where I cried out. Then she came in and said, “Don’t be sad. I believe you can make it! ” She told me never to give up and left me alone to think about it. Alone in the music room, I recalled Ms Miller’s words and finally realized she was right. Quitting wasn’t just about giving up on myself; it was about abandoning my team. I couldn’t let my teammates down.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】
Then I decided to go on practicing. I took Ms Miller’s words to heart and spent extra hours in the music room after school, focusing on each beat and rhythm until I got them right. It was tough, but as I gradually improved, my confidence grew. My teammates began to notice my progress and supported me with encouraging words. The joy of playing music started to return, and I began to feel like an essential part of the band again.
Later, we performed in an important show. Standing on the stage, I felt a mix of excitement and nerves, but I was ready. As we began our piece, I concentrated on each beat, ensuring my drumming matched the harmony of the team. The performance went smoothly, and the audience applauded loudly as we finished. Ms Miller smiled at me from the side of the stage, and I felt a deep sense of accomplishment. That moment taught me the value of perseverance and teamwork, lessons I would carry with me forever.

18 What happened to the author’s family in their first day trip
A. They got badly injured. B. They felt really tired.
C. They reached the destination. D. They got some jelly from other tourists.

A. It was very relaxing. B. It turned out to be the easiest.
C. It ended up with a plane crash. D. It was a frightening journey.

A. Humorous. B. Serious. C. Anxious. D. Annoyed.
21. What is the text
A. An encyclopedia. B. A travel plan.
C A travel brochure. D. A travel journal.

The robots learned dance moves through AI and used laser navigation to move safely on the uneven stage. Their strong joints, like knees with 360N·m power, helped them balance perfectly during fast steps. Zhang Yimou explained, “This dance isn't just fun - it shows how technology can bring new life to traditions.”
Thanks to these innovations, the robots won the hearts of millions. On social media, topics like “Robot Yangko” trended quickly. Young viewers called it “cool” while older audiences loved its humor and festive spirit. The YangBOT program is a perfect mix of China's tech progress and cultural pride. As one fan said, “It's like watching the future and past dance together!”

C. Because it was the first time to use AI in a dance performance.
D. Because it was performed by famous dancers.
24. What do young people think of the YangBOT program

1.续写词数应为150左右;
