M: Okay. It goes like this. On certain days each month, adults from the neighborhood sit in class with the students and see what’s going on in the school.
W: That’s interesting. What else can they do
M: They can also take adult courses in the evenings for both fun and serious learning.
W: What about the students What can they do in the program
M: Well, they can change places with adults and go working on a farm or in a factory or taking care of the housework.
W: Good. This helps them better understand the lives of their parents and know more about their neighborhood.
M: Yes. Students have a chance to work in hospitals, nursing homes, libraries, and even in government offices.
W: So the school is not only part of the student’s lives, but also part of the neighborhood.
M: That’s exactly what our service program is for.

Text 10
M: Good evening. Tonight, I’ll continue to share how we can use art to spread the word about the changing climate. In our day-to-day lives, climate change can be hard to see, but some places will feel the changes sooner than others. The city I live in is very flat and close to the waterline. And rising sea levels are already creating floods. So I decided to do something to make it impossible to ignore. I started an art project called Underwater Homeowners Association and painted numbers onto thousands of large signs. Each number showed how high someone’s house was above sea level. A one would mean that if the sea level rose one foot, the building would flood. I gave the signs to homeowners who put them in their yards. Kids painted more signs and put them near their schools and along busy roads. The project has already had a real-world effect. The people who put the signs in their yards created a real homeowners association to address climate change in their communities.

Dear Jenny,
I really like the idea of adding a new column to our English newspaper.I'm writing to express
that my predilection goes to "Guess who I am",which capitalizes on an object clause to signal its
potential contents.
The column will serve as a catalyst for closer bonds between students.Redoubling efforts to
boost academic performance,we pay little heed to other classmates'personalities, hobbies, strengths,
and even aspirations.Such an inviting column, adopting a "description and guess"approach, must
expose everyone to others'characteristics, thus strengthening mutual understanding.More
importantly, more friendships will be forged, since the column enables us to befriend someone on the
same wavelength
This eye-catching column,I'm firmly convinced, won't fail to grant the whole class a
harmonious atmosphere.
Yours,
Li Hua

One possible version:
I realized it was me who was at fault.I had been so focused on keeping the party under control
that I failed to consider how important Toby was to my brother during this difficult time.My pride
had kept me from reaching out,and now months had passed without a proper conversation. One
evening,I picked up the phone and left him a voice message, apologizing for my behavior and
asking if we could meet.To my relief,he called back the next day,and we agreed to get together
soon.
With the biscuits my wife had made,I arrived at my brother's door.He opened it with a
surprised smile,and for a moment,neither of us spoke.Then we hugged-something we hadn't
done since before his wife passed away.We sat on the porch with Toby resting beside us,and I
handed him the box of biscuits."Thank you,"he said quietly. We talked for hours, laughing,
remembering old times, and slowly rebuilding what had been lost.As I watched Toby gently rest his
head on my brother's leg,I knew we were finally on the path to healing.

A
Some trains are already electrified through rails or wires"及"others can be made electric in pretty simple ways"可知,火车部分已实现电气化,且剩余部分可通过相当简单的方式改造,即火车是转型难度最低的交通工具,故选C项。
We need to speed up the development of green energy, and it will all get used"可知,其核心建议是加速发展可再生能源(renewables),即应加大对绿色能源的投入力度,故选B项。
B
由第一段中的“my students, who'd created these people”及“a cowboy... a modern-day Juliet”可知,这些人物是学生创作的角色,即虚构人物(fictional characters),故选D项。
由第二段末句“writing, in and of itself, simply didn’t strike them as important”可知,学生认为写作本身不重要,即缺乏写作兴趣导致表现不佳,故选D项。
由第三段末句“turned in stories, 10 to 20 pages each, with characters that broadened my view and touched my heart”可知,学生提交的长篇故事质量极高且情感动人,故“staggering”在此处意为“惊人的”(amazing),故选B项。
由末段“I walked into class believing... demonstrated something more important to me”及全文教师认知转变的过程可知,作者通过教学实践获得对写作本质的新认知,体现“教学相长”(Teaching is learning),故选A项。
C
由第一段中的"declines in pedestrian mobility, especially among young children"及"parents pack them into the car instead"可知,行人(尤其儿童)步行减少而汽车使用增加,即"人们步行更少、开车更多"(People walk less and drive more),故选C项。
由第三段中加拿大记者Jane Jacobs呼吁市长将纽约打造为"a decent place to live"(宜居之地)并反对修建高速路可知,她与其他抗议者的核心目标是"保持城市宜居性"(Keep their cities livable),故选A项。
由第四段首句"the majority of western cities were completely redesigned around the needs of the motor car"及澳大利亚汽车拥有率全球领先的数据可知,尽管发生过抗议,城市规划仍以汽车为中心,即这些运动"基本未奏效"(turned out largely ineffective),故选B项。
Do we recognise what it costs... "(我们是否意识到代价?),A项"Why the Rush "(为何匆忙?)
由第一段中的“Microplastics have settled in the deep sea and on the Himalayas, stuck inside volcanic rocks, filled the stomachs of seabirds and even fallen in fresh Antarctic snow. They are even appearing inside humans.”
根据第二段中的“boiling hard water containing 300 milligrams of calcium carbonate led to an almost 90 percent drop in plastics. But in samples with less than 60 milligrams of calcium carbonate, boiling reduced the level of plastics by just 25 percent.” 故选A。
根据第四段中提到“Even bottled water, scientists found earlier this year, contains 10 to 1,000 times more microplastics than originally thought.”,可以推测,作者提到瓶装水是为了凸显微塑料问题的严重性。
根据最后一段中“we should be looking into upgrading drinking water treatment plants so they remove microplastics.”
41. C 选项:painting over 涂抹;looking around 四处张望;emptying out 清空;pulling down 拆除。根据文中提到“we were busy ___ the beloved home our family had spent 23 years filling up”可推断,作者正在清理家中物品,准备搬家,故选C项“emptying out”最为合适,指的是“清空”物品。
根据文中“we were moving to in town”以及上下文描述,作者和丈夫搬到的是市区的住所,应该是“公寓(apartment)”,故选D项。
根据文中“rented a place to ___ our supposedly important objects”可推测,作者租了一个地方来储存他们认为重要的物品,故选A项“store”最为恰当。
根据文中的上下文,作者提到“a couple of messages came in, one wanting additional ___”,显然指的是想要看更多照片,而不是收费、收据或模型。
47. A 选项:move 搬家;pay 支付;market 市场;work 工作。文中提到的“as our ___ day drew near”指的是搬家的那一天,显然是“搬家(move)”的日子临近,故选A项。
根据文中的语境,“I reposted it. The ___: 'I hate this vase.
文中提到,“a woman raced into my house and left happily with the vase”,这个女人显然是非常“鼓舞的(Encouraged)”去购买这个花瓶,因为她得到了她想要的东西。故选D项。
根据文中的语境,“Each exchange provided a chance to ___ the landfill and to please another person”,这里应是指通过交换物品来“节省(spare)”垃圾填埋场的空间,而不是移除。故选B项。
根据文中的描述,“please another person I might not otherwise have ___”,显然指的是作者可能“遇到(encountered)”这些人,而不是“推荐”或“识别”。故选C项。
文中提到“loving each of the ___ that share our small space”,可以推测,作者爱的是与她共用空间的这些“物品(belongings)”,故选D项。
54. A 选项:joy 喜悦;part 部分;care 关心;time 时间。文中提到,“I take ___ in knowing”表示作者从这个过程中获得的“喜悦(joy)”,故选A项。
根据上下文,“somewhere nearby, someone is ___ something that couldn't come with us”,指的是另一个人正在“欣赏(appreciating)”某件不能和我们一起搬家的物品,故选B项。

One possible version:
I realized it was me who was at fault. Had I allowed my brother to bring Toby inside during the party, we could have kept the dog on a lead, and cleanup would have been easy if he had made a mess. “You need to make this right,” my wife said one morning over coffee. I swallowed my pride. I knew my brother’s daily routine and reasoned I could catch him at home around lunchtime. It had been over two months since the gathering, with still no word from him. Naturally, I was tempted to let it slide, but in the end I knew it was up to me.
With the biscuits my wife had made, I arrived at my brother’s door. As I stood there, I felt a bit nervous. When he opened the door, he stared at me for a moment. Toby came up to me, tail wagging. That felt like a good sign. He motioned that I could step inside. My next words were that I was sorry for the way I had conducted myself at the party. A faint smile crossed his lips as he took the biscuits from me. We had lunch together happily. Several months later, we had another family function at our house. Of course, my brother brought Toby with him. Thankfully, there were no accidents or issues. My brother had a great time. Later, when I thanked my wife, she smiled and handed me a broom so I could sweep up the dog hair.2025年普通高等学校招生全国统一考试(全国一卷)
