It's often said that children are the apple of their parents' eyes. As a son or daughter, you may also want to make your parents proud. Here are certain things you can do.
Talk to Them As Often As You Can
Every parent wants their children to trust them enough to talk to them when they are happy and when they are feeling low. Therefore, don't be afraid to call your parents when you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders the same way you would call them when happy. Share your achievements, both big and small. Your parents are your biggest cheerleaders and it makes them happy to feel involved(参与).
Have Patience with Them
One of the best things you can do for your parents is to be patient with them, which makes them feel loved and understood. As they grow older, you need to understand that they become slower or may do things differently from the way they used to. Therefore, be patient with them.
Be Helpful
If you live at home, you can be a good son or daughter by helping around with house chores. Start by ensuring that your parents don't have to clean for you. Keep your room tidy and help to keep other areas of the home clean. Help with dish washing, make dinner and even set the table. Helping around ensures they have time to rest and do other things. It feels good when they know they have someone who can keep things together at home.
Respect Them
You can do everything on this list, but without respecting your parents, nothing else you do matters. When they are talking, listen and do not cut in on them. If you have done wrong, say sorry and avoid repeating the same mistake again. When you are out with friends, call your parents and let them know you're okay. When you show them respect, it can go a long way in strengthening your relationship with them.

For most of us, walking is something we do without thinking. It doesn't require much effort,so many of us fail to remember the benefits(益处)of walking for health.
Physical activity doesn’t need to be hard. Whether you're regularly(定期)active or not, even a quick ten-minute daily walk can bring a lot of health benefits. But what happens if we stop walking ahead and start challenging our brains and bodies by walking backwards Not only does this change of direction require more of our attention, but it may also bring more health benefits.
One of the most well-studied benefits of walking backwards is improving balance. Walking backwards can improve how a person walks and balance for healthy adults and those with knee problems. Walking backwards causes us to take shorter, more frequent(频繁的)steps, leading to exercise the lower legs. But the benefits of changing direction aren't just that-an interest in backwards movement has led researchers to discover other benefits. While normal (平常的)walking can help us maintain(维持)a healthy weight, walking backwards may be even more effective. Energy expenditure when walking backwards is almost 40 per cent higher than walking at the same speed forwards, with one study showing reductions in body fat for women who completed a six-week backwards walk.
Walking backwards is simple, but that doesn't mean it's easy. So, how can you add walking backwards into your exercise plan When walking backwards, we're more likely to crash into something or fall over, so in the interest of safety, it's best to start indoors where you won't crash into someone or outside in a flat, open area. Look over your shoulder. Keep your head and chest upright while reaching back with your big toe(脚趾) for each step, rolling through the foot from toe to heel. Once you become more confident walking backwards, you can begin to speed things up.
( )29. Why does the writer mention the advantages of walking in the beginning
A. To introduce the advantages of walking.
B. To show people don't have enough exercise.
C. To lead us to “walking backwards”.
D. To tell us the importance of walking.
( )30. What does the underlined word “expenditure" mean
A.Increase. B.Spending. C.Experience. D. Gain.
( )31. Which question can the fourth paragraph answer
A. When is safe to walk backwards
B. Why should we walk backwards
C. How can we start walking backwards
D. What's the weakness of walking backwards
( )32.What is the best title for the passage
A. Physical Activity Is Easy and Simple.
B.Walking Backwwards Is Really Good for You.
C. Walking Doesn't Require Any Special Movement.
D.Walking Ahead Challenges Our Brains and Bodies.

A spacecraft successfully hit an asteroid(小行星)!This is not a movie plot(情节).It’s NASA's first move to protect Earth from being hit by asteroids.
On Sept 26, NASA's 570-kilogram spacecraft crashed into an asteroid called Dimorphos, about the size of a soccer field. The spacecraft took off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California and flew through 11 million kilometres of space for 10 months. It is expected to slow down the speed of Dimorphos and change its orbit(轨道)after the direct hit, reported NASA.
The task is called the Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART). The idea of DART came from our long-held nightmare about an asteroid striking(撞击)Earth. After all, it is thought that this played a main role in killing off most of the dinosaurs 66 million years ago. A similar strike could end human civilization(文明)as well.
According to NASA, Dimorphos was not a threat(威胁)to Earth, but rather a great testing ground for the experiment. Scientists are now using ground-based telescopes(望远镜)to see whether or not Dimorphos' orbit has changed, and if so, by how much.
"This is an effort that influences everyone living on Earth," said Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator for the Science Mission Directorate at NASA. “Now we know we can aim(瞄准)a spacecraft with the correctness needed to hit even a small body in space. Just a small change in its speed is all we need to make a big difference in the path an asteroid travels."
The data(数据)collected from this successful test will help with NASA's Earth defense strategies(防御策略)if an asteroid heads for Earth in the future.
( )33. What is the purpose of NASA's experiment
A. To make a movie. B. To break up the asteroid.
C. To avoid Earth being hit in the future. D. To find out where the asteroid is from.
( )34. What is the "nightmare" in Paragraph 3
A.The dinosaurs being killed off by asteroids.
B.Spacecraft hitting asteroids in space.
C.There may be human-like civilizations in asteroids.
D.Humans will die from asteroids hitting Earth.
( )35. With the spacecraft hitting the asteroid, NASA expects that
a. the spacecraft can fly back after the task
b. Dimorphos will slow down
c. Dimorphos' orbit will change
d. they can find out how much Dimorphos' orbit has been changed
e. they can check how far Dimorphos is from Earth
A.abc B.ace C.cde D.bcd
( )36. Thomas Zurbuchen probably agrees that
A. we shouldn't change the orbit of asteroids
B. we are trying to save ourselves in the future
C. we are sure to die from asteroids striking
D. we may face a bigger danger because of the experiment
