A
The ocean is a big place full of life, and one of its most famous residents is the dolphin. They are wonderful animals and many people love them. With some pretty amazing skills, they are special in the ocean world.
One super cool thing is their ability of echolocation to see underwater. They make a series of quick, high clicks. These clicks can travel through the water…When the clicks hit something, they come back as echoes. Dolphins listen to these echoes and know the place and size of things or animals. This skill helps them to find food and move around safely.
What’s more, dolphins have lots of social skills. They like to stick together in groups. For example, they find food together and protect each other from danger. They also have their own special ways of talking with each other. For example, they show love by touching and nuzzling.

5.THE MOST PRECIOUS GIFT
“...85, 86, 87” counted Della, “One dollar and eighty-seven cents. That’s all.”
Della counted it again. But it was still just one dollar and eighty-seven cents. And the next day would be Christmas. Della wanted to buy a nice gift for her wonderful husband James. But what could she get for $1.87 Not much.
“How can I get more money ” thought Della. Then she thought of something. She had something to sell!
Della had beautiful long brown hair. She could go to a beauty shop and sell it! She put on her coat and hat and left.
“Will you buy my hair ” she asked at a beauty shop.
“Maybe,” said a woman. “Take off your hat, and let’s see it.”
Della took off her hat and fell down her beautiful hair. The woman lifted some in her hand. “Twenty dollars,” she said.
“Sold!” said Della.
Now Della had $21.87. With that, she could buy a wonderful gift for her husband. But, what would Della buy James had a beautiful gold pocket watch. It was his greatest treasure.
“I know!” said Della to herself. “I can buy a chain for it!” she spent the next two hours looking for one. She looked in every shop. She finally found one and it was perfect! So she bought it for twenty-one dollars.
When Della got home, she started to fix her hair. Forty minutes later, tiny curls covered her head. “Will James like my hair now ” she wondered, “I hope so!”
At 7:00 Della sat at the kitchen table waiting for James. She had the chain in her hand. Finally, she heard James coming up the steps. Then she began to worry. She whispered, “Please God, make him think I am still pretty.”
When James came in and saw Della, he just stopped and looked.
“Don’t look at me like that,” cried Della.
“You cut your hair,” James said slowly.
“Yes,” said Della. “I sold my hair so I could buy you a gift.”
“Thank you,” said James and hugged her. Then he gave her a package.
Della opened it. Inside lay two beautiful combs. She hugged them and said, “My hair will grow again, James!”
Then she gave James his present.
“Isn’t it beautiful ” she asked. “Give me your watch, and I’ ll put it on.”
“I can’t, Della.” he said slowly, “I sold my watch to get the money to buy the combs for your hair!”
“Oh...” Della whispered, “I’m so sorry.”
“I am, too.” said James, “But we still have each other. I love you!” And they hugged again.
Both Della and James gave up their greatest treasure to buy a precious gift for each other.
