There are around 11, 200 charity shops in the UK. You can find quite a few of them on every high street. They are selling mainly second-hand donated goods (商品) to raise money for their parent charities.
Charity shops are a good idea. Every year, charity shops raise more than 295 million. The money goes to help medical research and environmental protection, support sick and poor children, the homeless, mentally and physically disabled people, and many others.
