T asks each student to work out his /her own mind map with the key information from the text below. Then, T invites two Ss to draw their mind maps on the blackboard and the other Ss on their worksheet. (Independent Work)【设计意图】启发学生在自主阅读中梳理、归纳文本信息,提取叙述人物事迹的完整思路,体验作者思维的过程。根据高一大部分学生的基础为其提供已有关键信息词的思维导图框架。【效果评价】学生能通过详细阅读独立找出Jan的个人信息、因网络而发生的三个主要的改变的词块,并用思维导图的形式展现出来。【教学活动】Deep thinking& Critical thinking1.After cooperation, T asks Ss to summarize the common things of the 3 old people in the text and ask Ss to explain what digital divide is in their own words. Answers:They are people who hasn’t access to the Internet and doesn’t know how to use new technology. Digital divide refers to the difference between people who have easy access to the Internet and those who do not.2. Ss can share their findings and then try to remember them.T asks Ss to analyze some long and difficult sentences. Ss review the content of this class and do their best to consolidate what they have learned.T draws Ss’ attention back to the learning aims and see whether those aims have been achieved or not.
