关键词法

辨析:a bit 与a little
相同点 二者都具有副词的性质,修饰动词,表示程度小,意为“有点”。
不同点 当修饰名词时,a little 可以在后面直接加不可数名词,而a bit 需要先接介词of,然后再加不可数名词。
一语辨异
I have only a little money, so I can buy a bit of bread for you. 我只有一点钱了,因此只能给你买少量面包。

personal adj. 个人的;私人的,由名词person(人;个人)加形容词后缀-al 变化而来。常用作定语。
-al 是英语中的常用后缀,表示“和……有关的;具有……性质的”,通常加在名词后面构成形容词,有时名词要稍作变化。

(2)education(n. 教育)→ educational(adj. 有教育意义的)

strength n. 长处;力量;强度,由形容词strong(强壮的)稍作变化再加名词后缀-th 变化而来。
-th 是常用的名词后缀,通常加在形容词或动词的后面构成名词,有时词根要作适当变化。如:

(2)true(adj. 符合事实的)→ truth(n. 实情)

观察· Many students have different talents in different ways.

talent n. 才能;天资,既可作可数名词,也可作不可数名词,其复数形式是talents。

6 proud /pra d/ adj. 自豪的;骄傲的
观察· We are proud of our soccer team.
我们为我们的足球队而骄傲。

他们为她在学校功课好而自豪。
· He is the pride of his parents. 他是父母的骄傲。
· She takes pride in her work. = She is proud of her work.

proud adj. 自豪的;骄傲的,可作表语或定语。
常见用法:
(1)be proud of 为……而自豪/ 骄傲

pride n. 自豪;骄傲;值得自豪的人/ 物(单数用法)。

观察· Our head teacher is a very serious person.
我们的班主任是个很严肃的人。
· This is a personal computer. You can’t turn it on.
这是一台私人电脑。你不能打开它。
· He wanted to meet you in person. 他想亲自见见你。
person n. 人,用于描述具体的个体,强调个人的特点和品质。其对应的复数意义的单词为people,用来泛指人类,表达人类的共性和普遍性。
常用短语:in person 表示“亲自;亲身”。

1 be supposed to 应该(教材P30)
观察· Students are supposed to get to school before 8 a.m.
学生们应该在早上八点前到校。
· The train was supposed to leave at 7 p.m., but it was late. 火车本应该在晚上7 点出发,可是晚点了。
· You are not supposed to smoke on the bus.
你不应该在公交车上吸烟。
be supposed to 意为“应该”,后面使用动词原形。当主语是人时,表示某人应该做某事,相当于情态动词should。当主语是物时,表示某事本应当发生而实际未发生。其否定形式要在be 的后面加not。
2 come up with 想出;提出
观察· He came up with a good idea for the party.
他为聚会想出了一个好主意。
· Have they come up with a solution to the problem
他们提出问题的解决方案了吗?
· We need to come up with a plan for our trip.
我们需要为旅行制订一个计划。
· They need to come up with enough money to help the homeless people.
他们需要拿出足够的钱来帮助无家可归的人。
come up with 是一个常用短语,基本含义是“提出/ 想出某个主意/ 制订计划或解决方案”,也可以表示 “拿出(一笔钱等)”。常见搭配:
(1)come up with a good idea 想出一个好主意
(2)come up with a solution 提出一个解决方案
(3) come up with a plan 制订一个计划
(4)come up with some money 拿出一些钱
3 be good at 擅长于
观察· My desk mate is good at math.
= My desk mate does well in math. 我的同桌擅长数学。
· My father is good at playing chess. 我父亲擅长下国际象棋。
· Vegetables are good for your health. 蔬菜对你的健康有好处。
· She is good with children. 她善于与孩子们相处。
be good at 意为“擅长于”,主要用于描述某人在某个方面有很强的能力或技巧。其后接名词或动名词。be good at 的同义短语是do well in。

分析结构 这是一个简单句,句子类型是特殊疑问句。用于询问某人自己对自己的评价。What 是疑问词,用于提问具体内容;do 是助动词,用于构成疑问句;you 是人称代词作主语;like 意为“喜欢”,作谓语;about yourself是介词短语作状语。

“特殊疑问词(组)+ 助动词+ 主语+ 实义动词+ 其他?”用于提出关于某事物或某人的特定方面的询问。
2 Some students say that it is hard to write about themselves. 一些学生说关于他们自己很难写。
分析结构 这是一个主从复合句,主句是Some students say,that it is hard to write about themselves 是由that 引导的宾语从句,其中it 是形式主语,真正的主语是to write about themselves。

在这么短的时间内完成工作是很难的。
