Physical work plays an important role in our physical and mental growth, in our health, and in our overall well-being.
First, physical work teaches us some important life skills. Through activities, we learn the value of hard work and develop a sense of responsibility. It is not only beneficial to our daily life, but also to our development.

英语中有许多以-able 或-ible 结尾的形容词变名词是去掉词尾的-able 或-ible 加-ability 或-ibility。类似的词还有:

whether conj“. 是否”,引导宾语从句,相当于if。(如例句1)
whether conj.“是否”,引导表语从句。(如例句2)
whether conj.“是否”,引导主语从句,谓语动词用第三人称单数形式。(如例句3)
whether or not“无论是否”,后接句子,表示让步关系。(如例句4)
whether... or not“是否”,常作宾语。(如例句5)
辨析:whether 与if
whether 引导宾语从句时,相当于if。whether 可与介词、动词不定式、or not 连用,还可以引导主语从句或表语从句(如例句2, 3)。
if 引导宾语从句或条件状语从句,引导宾语从句时可与whether 互换。不能与介词、动词不定式或or not 连用。

· Not only does he play football, but also he coaches the team.
他不但踢球,还担任球队教练。
not only… but also... 可以连接并列的主语、谓语、宾语、表语或句子。连接并列的句子且位于句首时,not only 后的句子要用倒装句。
用于连接并列成分的短语还有:either... or 或者……或者……;neither... nor... 既不……也不……;both... and... ……和……都。
探究三 核心句式
