the development of... 意为“……的发展”,of 后接名词、动名词等。
with the development of... 意为“随着……的发展”。
development 的动词形式为develop,其意思为“发展”。

分析结构 这句话是一个简单句。主语是you,谓语是would like,宾语是to know about other great rivers around the world,这里是动词不定式短语作宾语。动词不定式短语中的other great rivers around the world 作know about 的宾语。around the world 为介词短语,修饰rivers。

would like 意为“想要”,没有人称和数的变化,后接名词、代词或动词不定式。
