Fireworks go off, and people hug each other, shouting and cheering.
烟花绽放，人们互相拥抱，欢呼雀跃。
shouting和cheering在句中是非谓语动词，作伴随状语，意思是“叫喊着，庆祝着”。
go off：爆炸，开火。
e.g. Fireworks were going off all over the city.
城里到处在燃放烟花。

本句为复合句，which are called New Year’s resolutions为非限制性定语从句，解释说明先行词promises，先行词promises在定语从句中作主语。
make a promise to sb：向某人许下承诺。

make promises to do：许诺做某事。

They buy clothes and food for their families. They

families get together to enjoy themselves. They enjoy delicious food, watch TV, play games, visit friends and relatives, etc. The Spring Festival is a great time of family reunion for Chinese people all over the world.

e.g. We must get together to celebrate grandmother’s birthday.
