According to some critics, the Qingming Scroll not only the economic prosperity of Bianjing during the Northern Song Dynasty, but also serious political and social problems. For example, some soldiers are resting or even sleeping in front of the government office gate, which their ignoring the duties. Officials are fighting for space on the bridge road, merchants occupy the street near the bridge, and a boat is in danger of crashing into the bridge, public security and traffic issues in society.
