He reached my hands as I was sinking drowned. With great efforts and much danger to himself, he managed to bring me to shore in time.I was ashamed of being rude to Henry earlier. With a sense of guilt, I apologized to him, “Sorry, Henry. I shouldn’t have called you a coward. Thank you for saving me.” Henry forgave me and we went home happily. It was Henry's brave act of saving me that taught me true courage means helping others even when it's dangerous.I struggled and shouted for help, panic coursing through my veins. Henry's face paled at the sight of my distress. Without hesitation, he jumped into the water. Despite his fear, he swam towards me with determination. He reached out and grabbed my arm, pulling me towards the shore. With his help, I finally managed to scramble out of the water, gasping for breath. Shivering, I looked at Henry and said, "Thank you. I was wrong about you. You're the bravest person I know." Henry smiled weakly and replied, "We're friends. I couldn't leave you in trouble." From that day on, our friendship grew stronger. I looked at the mess in disbelief. Mr Li came out of the classroom whose face was clouded with anger as if fire was burning in his heart. Regretful and ashamed, I lowered my head, apologizing in a soft voice, “Sorry, Mr Li. I broke the flower pot. But I will clean it up.” Mr Li nodded approvingly and I immediately took action. Seeing this, other students also came to offer their helping hands willingly. Finally, with everyone’s efforts and cooperation, the mess was cleaned up. With a wave of gratitude and achievement surging through me, I realized that one need to have courage to admit and correct the mistake instead of running away from it.I looked at the mess in disbelief. Realizing I had broken Mr. Li's window with the soccer ball, my heart sank. I stood there, frozen with panic. After a moment, I took a deep breath and decided to take responsibility. I walked up to Mr. Li, head-bowed, and said, "Mr. Li, I'm terribly sorry. It was me. I'll make up for the damage." To my surprise, instead of getting angry, he smiled in relief and said, "Accidents happen. I'm glad you're honest." It was through this experience that I learned to be responsible for my actions and honesty is the best policy. From then on, every time I play soccer, I will be extra careful. Smoke soon poured out and the sandwich burned black. I stared at the burnt sandwich in horror, tears welling up in my eyes. “I just wanted to make you a special Mother’s Day breakfast,” I sobbed. Mom hugged me tightly and said in a gentle voice, “Sweetheart, it’s the thought that counts. Your love means more to me than a perfect sandwich.”She then helped me clean up the mess. After that, we decided to make a new dish together. With mom’s guidance, we successfully made delicious pancakes. As we sat at the table enjoying the food, I felt warm and loved. This Mother’s Day might not have started as planned, but it ended up being a wonderful and memorable time for both of us. I had considered the options one by one. I finally decided to tell Mary the truth. I arrived at the classroom early in the afternoon. Staring at the door nervously, a familiar figure caught my eyes. I comforted myself and approached her with butterflies with my stomach. “Mary, I’m sorry to tell you that I broke your MP3. But don’t worry. I’ll buy you a new one.”Much to my surprise, Mary wasn’t annoyed at all. Instead, she broke into a warm smile. “Thank you for your honesty,” she said, gently patting my shoulder. Upon hearing her words, my face brightened with joy. This experience taught me that honesty is always the best policy. It might be scary to face the truth sometimes, but it can prevent a lot of unnecessary trouble and maintain good relationships.I had considered the options one by one. First, I thought about hiding the broken MP3. But I quickly dismissed this idea. Lying would only make things worse in the long run. Then, I considered buying a new MP3 to replace the broken one. However, I didn't have enough money at the moment. Finally, I realized that the best option was to be honest with Mary. I took a deep breath and went to find her. When I saw her, I apologized sincerely: “Mary, I’m sorry to tell you that I broke your MP3. But don’t worry. I’ll buy you a new one.” To my surprise, Mary wasn't as angry as I had expected. “Thank you for your honesty and I’m glad you have the courage to admit the mistake,” she said in a comforting tone. This experience taught me that honesty is always the best policy. It might be scary to face the truth sometimes, but it can prevent a lot of unnecessary trouble and maintain good relationships. Suddenly, we noticed that the area around us was filled with trash. Henry and I exchanged a shocked look. The once-beautiful park had turned into a messy place. Henry said, “We should do something about this.” I agreed immediately. We decided to clean up the trash right away. Without any tools, we used our hands to pick up the waste. It was dirty work, but we didn’t mind. After what seemed like ages, the park gradually returned to its clean and lovely state. We wiped the sweat off our brows and resumed our soccer game. The fresh air and beautiful scenery made the game even more fun. We were happy not only because we could play freely again, but also because we have made a positive change to our environment. On my way to school, I saw an old man struggling to cross the road. Though the thought of being late for school still loomed in my mind, I know I couldn’t just leave him there. I rushed over to him and said, “Let me help you.” He smiled thankfully at me. I held his arm gently yet firmly, guiding him step-by-step across the busy road. Once we safely reached the other side, the old man patted on my shoulder and expressed his gratitude warmly. His kind words filled me with a sense of achievement. After saying goodbye to him, I turned and sprinted towards school. As I ran, I wasn’t as anxious about being late anymore. The act of helping the old man made me feel that I’d done something meaningful, knowing that kindness was more important than punctuality in this instance. My best friend Alice let out a painful cry. I immediately stopped in my tracks when I heard Alice's cry. Without hesitation, I skated back to her side. She was lying on the ground, tears streaming down her face, with a look of pain and disappointment. "Alice, it's okay. Don't worry," I said, trying to soothe her. I helped her sit up and carefully checked her injuries.Thankfully, it seemed nothing was seriously broken, just some scrapes and bruises. I hugged her tightly and said, "You're still an amazing skater. This is just a small setback." Then, I slowly helped her stand up. Despite her pain, Alice managed a weak smile. We decided to finish the race together, not caring about the ranking anymore. Hand in hand, we skated towards the finish line. The cheers from the crowd grew louder as we approached. In that moment, I realized that friendship and mutual support were more important than winning. 展开更多...... 收起↑ 资源预览
