(2024·湖北武汉·模拟预测)Movies are the most expensive and difficult form of art to make. They need hundreds of people and large amounts of money. So usually, studios (电影公司) try to make movies that will attract as many people as possible. I’m not sure this always leads to better movies. An interesting example came along in May of last year.
Paramount released a trailer (预告片) for a live-action Sonic the Hedgehog (《刺猬索尼克》) movie. Soon, the Internet stood together: Sonic looked TERRIBLE. He had big human teeth with small eyes, and his fur looked like a child wearing pajamas (睡衣). Sonic should have looked cool, but instead he looked like a scary half-human.
Paramount couldn’t overlook (忽视) the online outrage. It quickly made a redesign for the character. At first, I thought, “This is great!” There was no social media when I was a kid. We would have had to accept a terrible Sonic back then.
While I’m glad for the redesign, I’m worried, too. Some of my favorite movies are ones that nobody liked at first. What makes them good is often what made them unpopular in the first place. What if directors only listened to what people were saying on Sina Weibo or Twitter Would anyone even want to be a director anymore After all, if you try to make everybody happy, nobody will be happy.
I think studios would end up with lots of money but we would end up with a lot of bad movies. If an art form only aims to make money, can we call it “art”

(2025·湖北恩施·一模)The world is full of screens. They are on TVs, computers and smartphones. Screens are at school, at home, and just about everywhere in between. The time people spend every day looking at screens is known as “screen time”. Most families have rules about how much time children can spend with screens. Why do they have rules Are there good reasons to limit screen time
In many ways, screens are helpful for communication and connecting with other people. Social media (社交媒体) and video calls allow people to be always in touch with one another. Screen time can also help people build new relationships. By sharing and commenting on videos, photos, games or music, people can meet others who have similar interests.
However, some adults are worried that young people spend too much time on screens and not enough time meeting people in real life. As a result, they may not properly understand feelings or develop strong relationships.
Many kinds of screen time may be good for students. Students may use screen time to develop their skills in creating music or videos. They may even learn skills such as coding (编程) computer programs. When students use their screen time to do research online, they may meet people who are different from them or ideas they have never thought about before.
However, some researchers think that screens change how the brain processes information. Some have linked (连接) screen time to lower test scores or less attention time.
In the future, scientists will continue studying the effects of screen time. Parents will likely continue to make rules limiting screen time. Plenty of good things can come from all this screen time, but it’s a good idea for people to pay attention to how much time in a day they spend looking at a screen. They should know how screen time influences their health, relationships and learning.

8.What does the underlined word “they” in Paragraph 3 refer to
A.Young people. B.Researchers. C.Teachers. D.Some adults.
9.What’s the writer’s opinion on screen time
A.For adults, screen time should not be limited.
B.People should make good use of screen time.
C.Young people had better stop using screen time.
D.It’s better for students to use screen time at home.
10.What would be the best title for the passage
A.What Is Screen Time B.Screens Are Everywhere

(2025·湖北黄冈·模拟预测)Have you ever wanted to achieve a goal and ended up doing lots of research on how to achieve it As you learned more and more, it seemed you knew less and less. That is because when you learned a new concept (概念), you found that there was a lot more to know about it.
Usually, people think they need to get more and more information before trying a new idea. There is nothing wrong with learning a lot, but when you let learning get in the way of doing, you will never get going.
One of the best ways to learn is to take action and learn from the results that you get from those actions. Don’t be afraid of not being perfect and just take the first step. You will go further than those who are still in preparation. It’s good to be prepared, but over-preparation in trying to reach a goal won’t get you results. The knowledge and skills that you need will be picked up along the way.
If a baby wants to learn how to walk, he doesn’t do it by just sitting there and thinking about how to walk. The best approach for a baby to walk is to actually get up and start walking. Sure he may fall, but with every fall, he learns what is walking and what is not and adjusts (调整) to it. By doing this over and over, he will finally learn to walk. This is the method you should use when you want to achieve your goals as well. It works well.
Learning more is great but if all you’re doing is learning and not taking action, it’s time to change that. Just take the first step.

B.It will be picked up before taking action.

(2024·湖北武汉·模拟预测)If a woman with tens of millions of followers on social networking sites claimed (宣称) in a video that she found a Grade 1 student’s winter holiday homework in a restaurant in Paris and said it was “false”, the story would make for a good, even laughable, joke.
But instead, she claimed the story was real, even making up the student’s name, Qin Lang. Though there were some doubts about the information of Qin, she kept it going as long as she could. She claimed she had found Qin’s mother. She even produced her WeChat conversation with Qin’s mother.
★ But the police fell for her story and spent time and money looking into all students named Qin Lang in the mentioned area. But they found out that the whole thing was false.
The incident (事件) has given us a warning. According to Forbes, more than 50 million people around the world describe themselves as online influencers. They have large followings, often in the hundreds of thousands or millions. Often, they post about their lives and promote (推广) products for money. It is believed that the industry will go up to nearly $500 billion by 2027.
Nowadays, a lot of short videos from online influencers, whether useful or harmful, appear on the internet and they are particularly popular with people. As a result, the quarrels at different stages between a woman and her “mother-in-law” are sometimes passed off (伪装) as news.
It’s high time to take action! All countries should make laws to regulate (约束) online influencers. Besides, online influencers themselves need to exercise self-control and don’t share false or useless information to get more likes and popularity and then to earn money. The platforms should also perform their duties and make necessary rules to regulate what is being posted, so that in the future, time and money will not be spent in looking for someone who doesn’t exist (存在) .

The ability of reading and writing doesn’t come naturally to people. Although it takes some effort, eighty-six percent of the world’s population have learned how to read and write, and the number has been increasing for centuries. Literacy (读写能力) makes it possible for us to navigate the world filled with books, websites, text messages, road signs, and more. But the world of information is changing. Why send a long letter or text when you can share photos or videos instead Why learn from a book when you can learn from a video Why read magazines when you can listen to podcasts (播客)
Could people join today’s world without the abilities of reading or writing ★ Most of our devices now talk to us and take spoken orders. Smart cars ask for where you go and then give directions. Smart virtual assistants, like Siri, listen for requests to report the weather, play a song, set a timer and much more. Some apps can also read text aloud or turn speech into text. These devices aren’t perfect—the apps still make silly mistakes. But they’re getting better and better. So in the future, it’s possible that all of our communication with our device and each other is spoken.
But reading and writing are powerful tools. For one, most people read faster than they speak. A podcaster speaks at around 150 to 160 words each minute, while a strong reader can look through a text at 300 to 400 words each minute. That’s twice as fast! Research has also found that when people read, they can remember more information and stay more interested than when they listen. Listening to read also creates new connections in the brain. With the invention of reading our brain has been changed, which developed the ways we were able to think, which changed the intellectual evolution (智力进化) of humans. Would we really choose to give it up
What do you think Do you hope people keep on reading and writing, or will technology make literacy out of date
26.Paragraph 1 mainly focus on ________.

30.The questions in the last paragraph are to make readers ________.

(2024·湖北武汉·模拟预测)There are always worries about false information on social media. Believing false information could influence our personal and group health. But why do people believe false information they see online One popular argument is that they are short of digital literacy (养), so they’re more likely to believe and share false information.
To explore the possible connections between one’s digital literacy and tendency (倾向) to believe false information, we surveyed 1,341 Americans. First, we showed them 24 news headlines—half of which were true and half of which were false. Then we tested their digital literacy. After that, they were asked to answer a question about different kinds of newsfeeds.
The survey found that digital literacy is indeed a good predictor (预测) of one’s ability to tell true information from what is false. But when we looked at the connection between digital literacy and the tendency to share false information with others, the results were different. Just like people who were less digitally literate, people who were more digitally literate were likely to share false articles as well.
Also, the results showed that even people with high digital literacy were not immune from sharing false news with others. This sounds strange. If you are better at telling the difference between the true and the false, why would you share false information As we look quickly through our news feeds, we often pay attention to feedback, such as how many “likes” our posts have received. It turns out that we often forget to ask ourselves whether a story is true or false before deciding to share it.
So, let’s all stop right now! Remember to ask ourselves whether the news we see is true before even thinking about clicking “share”.

C.Digital literacy can well predict one’s ability to tell true information from false.
D.Before deciding to share the story, we often know it is true.
34.What is the tone (语气) of the text
A.Angry B.Serious. C.Proud. D.Humorous.
35.Which of the following best shows the structure of the passage
A. B. C. D.
(2024·湖北十堰·三模)People want to know if pre-made meals are healthy enough for teenagers. There are several kinds of pre-made foods: ready-to-eat food, such as canned food or cooked food in packages, and ready-to-heat or ready-to-cook food. These foods usually require heating or cooking first before being served.
Many people think that pre-made foods are less healthy because they usually need to be kept in fridges. “In fact, freezing itself does not cause nutrition (营养) loss,” Liu Junya, a 33-year-old professor in diet in Beijing said. “But nutrition loss does happen when we heat or fry the food. ① Fifteen-year-old Cathy posted a birthday party invitation and her address online. When her parents got back home that evening, they couldn’t believe their eyes! There were 500 people at the party, and some of them were breaking windows and plants, making a total mess of the house.
②Most teens think that things like this could never happen to them. A study shows that last year alone, more than three million young people worldwide got into trouble because of their online activities. ★
③RULE 1: Share with care
Not everyone will like what you write online. Think before you post something. You can never completely control who sees your texts, pictures, or videos. (2024·湖北·二模)Let’s imagine this: Your parents are going out of town for a week. You’re left with 800 yuan. How will you spend it It would be silly to spend the money at the mall, especially if you already have great clothes in your room, right A better way to spend that money would be on key things such as food and transportation. You’d probably also want to put part of the money aside for something else.
Well, you just learned how to budget (预算). It’s all about deciding what matters the most to you and how much you want to spend on these things.
Working out your priorities (优先事项) is the most important part of budgeting. For example, if you plan on buying a new smartphone and a cool smartwatch, you should consider saving some money. The next time your friends invite you to go to KTV with them, you might as well decide to pass.
But having a budget doesn’t mean you can’t have fun; you just have to get creative. Instead of meeting your friends at the pizza shop and then going to the movies, you could invite them over to your house. You can buy some frozen pizzas at the supermarket and watch a movie online. It’s a lot cheaper but just as fun.
If you search for budgeting tips, you’ll find many. As a young person, you have plenty of chances to experiment with different ways. Once you find a way that works for you, it’s easier to get excited about budgeting.

Strange events in the sky, such as speeding lights or flying objects, which cannot be explained are called UFOs. Some people believe they could be a sign of aliens.
Many people think there are intelligent life forms in the universe (宇宙) other than humans. However, millions of pounds have been spent searching for aliens and no one has found proof (证据). Some people think it is a waste of money and people’s skills. So, is searching for aliens worth the money and effort Here are two different voices.
It’s a mystery that needs to be solved. “Are humans alone in the universe ” is a question that has inspired centuries of debate (辩论), dating back thousands of years and at least as far as the ancient Greeks. It is a question that has inspired hundreds of books and films, which shows how important it is to people. If someone sees a UFO, we need to find out what it is. Scientists searching for aliens could create new technologies and these could do good to Earth. For example, the small, lightweight camera on phones was developed so astronauts could take photos in space. Plus, if we were to discover aliens, we might be able to share knowledge with each other and create friendships across the universe.
________ There are many important problems here on Earth—such as climate (气候) change. People should focus energy on these rather than searching the universe for aliens that might not even exist (存在). Many people have spent lots of money trying to find signs of alien life and there is no result. Videos of flashing lights and strange objects in the sky might make good stories but in fact there is probably a reasonable explanation, such as a dirty mark on the camera lens (镜头). Besides, if aliens do exist, they will probably find us first so we might as well stop wasting our energy on them and spend it making Earth a better place to live.
56.Paragraph 2 mainly focuses on ________.
A.what aliens are like B.what people’s different opinions are
C.how people found proof D.how much money has been wasted
57.According to paragraph 3, searching for aliens could ________.

A.signs of alien life B.stories on science
C.videos of flashing lights D.problems on Earth
60.A debate is given to make readers ________.
A.discuss a subject B.show off abilities

②Some people believe that they need to be a certain size to look good. So, they start extreme diets (日常饮食) that are not good for their health. They might not eat meals or eat too little, which can make them feel sick. Is it a healthy way to live
③Also, many girls wear shoes with very high heels. They might think high heels make them look taller. But these shoes can actually hurt their feet and make it hard to walk comfortably, and it can increase risks of falls. Some even wear tight (紧的) clothes that influence blood circulation (循环), making it hard to breathe. Should we put fashion over comfort and physical health
④Besides, some boys and girls spend a lot of time and money changing their hair color. The material they use is usually harmful to their health. To make their hair straight or curly, they also use tools that are hot enough to burn their hair. But using these tools too often or at very high temperatures can make the hair dry or even burnt. Is it really worth it to risk our health, spending so much time and money
⑤So, let’s rethink what’s really important. Is it fashion or is it our well-being Clothes or hairstyles don’t tell us anything about a person’s character. (2024·江西抚州·期末)Did you know that humans haven’t walked on the moon surface (月球表面) since 1972 People are planning to send astronauts to the moon again, and finally to the Mars. The long-term space travel is possible in the near future. But it is dangerous. We have plenty of technology for safely exploring (探索) space. Do we really need to send people Here are some students’ opinions.
We still need to send humans into space. If we don’t solve the problem of climate change, the planet could become not fit to live in. We need to find out whether living on Mars is possible. The robotic mission (使命) is to send back a lot of information. But it won’t be enough to help us understand how we would face on another planet.
—Elisha Lee, 11, Wilmette, Illinois.
As a future engineer, I believe in space technology. Robots can stay in space longer and robots’ lives are not at risk. They could stay on the moon or Mars for many years, doing research, with no danger to human life.
—Lino Marrero, 15, Frisco. Texas.
Humans should continue going to space. Robots can collect information, but they can’t respond (反应灵敏) like humans in all situations. We couldn’t depend on them to develop an area that would be dangerous for humans.
—Kellen Bhatt, 11, Alpharetta, Georgia.
We should not send humans into space, at least not now. Sending humans into space needs a lot of money. The same money could be used for solving problems on Earth. I’m not saying that space exploration should never happen. But for now, we should focus on dealing with the problems we have on Earth.

I agreed with most of what the speaker said until this: “The challenge that teens faced 150 years ago was hard work. The challenge that teens face today is a lack(缺乏)of hard work.”

Nowadays, experts call on high school students to read as many literary classics (文学名著) as possible. What do you think of it
Linda: We don’t have enough life experiences, so we may have difficulty understanding the deeper classics. But this shouldn’t be a reason to give up reading classics. As Francis Bacon said, “Reading makes a full man; conference (谈话) a ready man; and writing an exact man.”
Curry: Classics are the treasures our ancestors left us. We should read them and pass them down. As the old Chinese saying goes, “One who is filled with knowledge always behaves well.” Classics can open up our minds and develop our interest in culture.
Frank: Without background and life experiences, students can’t understand what writers want to express in their classics. While reading, some students mainly pay attention to words and expressions rather than the hidden ideas. For this reason, reading classics might be a waste of time.
Mary: On the one hand, not all classics are suitable (合适的) for all students, as there are many difficult expressions and deep ideas. On the other hand, the special writing styles make it difficult for students to understand. So they won’t probably choose them.

(2023·湖北鄂州·中考真题)In my opinion, China’s “Double Reduction” Policy(“双减”政策)aimed at easing(减轻)education-related pressure on parents and children is effective. Now take my home as an example to show how it works.
“Dad! Get up! You promised to take us to the zoo today!” my two daughters shouted together one recent Saturday morning. The clock had just struck seven, but our house had already gotten noisier than the monkeys in the zoo!
For families with children, weekends have become very different. In the past, my wife and I could at least sleep in(睡懒觉). Then at 9 o’clock, we had to wake up the kids. After throwing them into a tutoring class(辅导班), we could enjoy several hours to ourselves. But now, these classes are gone altogether. Kids, of course, are happy about this. Every Tuesday or Wednesday evening, my girls would ask me, “Where are we going to spend this coming Saturday ”
Luckily, there are still some classes for them to attend. On Sundays, my girls go to learn ballet and chess. They really enjoy their time there. My elder daughter is old enough to read quietly on her own. On lucky days, we can get her to read together with her sister. Still, a quiet “competition” is on. My girls sometimes talk about how their classmates have spent an exciting weekend. It’s their way of complaining about my laziness.
Weekends are more tiring now for parents, but I think they are good for kids. After all, childhood should be more than just studying school subjects. It should be more colorful.

There is no doubt that technology has had a big influence on our lives. People from all around the world can now talk to each other almost at once on mobile phones and the Internet. People can easily solve their problems with the help of computers and the world wide web. With this technology, it seems that the world is more connected now than ever before. Even so, there have been worries about technology making people feel lonely and disconnected from others around them.
So does this mean that technology makes us lonely
In my opinion, it is hard to say Yes or No.
It’s true that humans need communication with each other. If we depend on technology too much to communicate, this can badly impact our mental (心理的) health. For me, technology is a tool. And just like any other kind of tool — like scissors, a pencil or a ruler, for example, it depends on how we use it: in a right way or in a right place. Take social media (社交媒体) as an example. If you only use it to compare yourself with others, you might feel sad and lonely. But if you use it as a tool to connect with friends and family or to start a new community to talk about your hobbies and interests, the loneliness will turn into love and friendship.
When you feel lonely after staring at your computer screen all day, maybe you can use that technology to reach out to a reliable (可靠的) friend and invite him or her out for lunch or a coffee.
91.According to the writer, technology is ________ .
A.a tool B.an influence
C.a pair of scissors D.a way of communication
92.What’s the meaning of the underlined word “impact” in Paqugraph 4
A.帮助 B.促进 C.影响 D.进入
93.According to the passage, if people use technology too much, people may ________ .
A.sleep less B.live longer C.feel lonely D.get more jobs
94.When we use technology to________ others, we can find love and friendship.
A.argue with B.compete with C.connect with D.compare with
95.What’s the main idea of the passage
A.Social media is important to us. B.Technology can be good and bad to us.
C.People need to communicate with each other. D.Computers and the Internet help us with our work.
(2023·湖北孝感·模拟预测)When you try to get things, it’s very possible that you will be rejected (拒绝).
You may be rejected by a good school or by your favorite team. However, rejection doesn’t have to come from big things. Everyday situations can lead to feelings of rejection, too. You may be hurt if your joke doesn’t get a laugh, or if no one remembers to save you a seat at the lunch table.
How should you deal with it Here are some ideas:
___________________If you get rejected, face it. Don’t try to brush off the hurt or tell yourself it’s not painful. Instead of thinking “I shouldn’t feel this way”, think about how normal it is to feel bad. Then it would be easy for you to get past the painful feelings.
If you want, tell someone else what happened and how you feel about it. Pick someone who will listen and be supportive.
Be positive
When you are rejected, it’s natural to wonder, “Why did this happen ” When you give yourself an explanation, be careful to stick to the facts.
Tell yourself, “I got rejected for the party because the person didn’t want to go with me.” Don’t tell yourself, “I got rejected because I’m not beautiful” or “I’m such a loser.” These aren’t facts. If self-blaming thoughts like these start coming into your mind, shut them down.
Use rejection to your advantage
A rejection is a chance to consider if there are things we can work on. It’s OK to think about whether there’s room for improvement.
If your skills aren’t strong enough this time, maybe you need to work harder. Your hard work will improve your chances of getting accepted next time. Use the rejection as a chance for self-improvement.
96.What does Paragraph 2 mainly talk about
A.It’s important to know of rejection. B.It’s possible to avoid rejection.
C.Rejection can be big or small. D.Rejection may hurt someone.

A.Be honest B.Try again C.Be careful D.Forget soon
98.What does the underlined word “self-blaming” mean in Chinese
A.自负的 B.自立的 C.自责的 D.自律的
99.Getting rejected can make you ____________.
A.lose friends B.get more chances
C.find facts D.improve yourself
100.What’s the best title for the passage
A.Stay away from rejection B.How to deal with rejection
