听下面一段独白,回答第 10 至第 12 三个小题。
It's World Environment Day on June fifth. Our teacher asked us to
make a survey on how students go to school every day. The result of
the survey shows that 40 percent of the students go to school on fo
ot, 35 percent of the students go to school by bike, 15 percent go t
o school by bus, and 10 percent go to school by car. We can see that
these years more and more students go to school in their parents’
cars. As we know cars give off harmful gas that causes air pollution.
I think riding bikes is much better than driving cars. Besides it c
an help us keep fit. So we middle school students had better go to s
chool by bike, by bus or on foot.

W: Hello, Beihai Park. Can I help you
M: Yes, I'm planning to visit the park tomorrow. Can you tell me your

tickets at four. There's no entry after that.
M: And how much does it cost
W: It's 15 for adults and 8 for people under sixteen.
M: I'm sixteen, but I'm a student.
W: That will be 10 then.
M: That sounds good. Is there a pizza house there
W: No, but there is a café. You can get sandwiches there.
M: OK. The park is opposite the library, is that right
W: No. It's the museum which is opposite the library. We' re opposite
the university.
M: Thank you very much.
W: You' re welcome.
第三节

短文读两遍。
Water is very important for us. We should try our best to save wat
er in many ways. Here are some tips for you.
First, turn off the tap. Just turn off the tap when you brush your
teeth in the morning and before bedtime. The same is true when you w
ash dishes. Second, save water when taking a shower. To save even mor
e water, keep your shower less than five minutes long. Put a clock in
the bathroom when you want to take a shower next time. Third, water y
our garden at a good time. The best time to water your garden is in t
he early morning or late evening when it's cool outside. Watering you
r garden when it's hot and sunny is wasteful because most of the wate
r disappears before the plants have time to drink it.

My ideas on AI
Hello, everyone! I'm glad to be invited to join this program. Wit
h the rapid development of science and technology, Artificial Intelli
gence becomes more and more popular in our daily life. Artificial Int
elligence can chat with people and help solve people's problems. For
example, it can help the students do homework correctly and solve the
subject problems. With AI's help, people can free themselves from ov
er-work and spend more time on what they are interested in.
However, it also has many disadvantages. If we always depend on i
t, it will make us lazy in mind. Its appearance will reduce people's
job opportunities.
In my opinion, AI is a double-edged sword. Instead of worrying ab
out its negative effects, you should learn more about how to use it p

Race walking shares many fitness benefits with running, while causing fewer
injuries(伤害), research shows. It does, however, have its own problem.
Race walkers are conditioned athletes. The longest event at the Summer Olymp
ics is the 50-kilometer race walk, which is about five miles longer than the mara
thon. But the sport's rules require that a race walker's knees stay straight thr
ough most of the leg swing and one foot remain in contact(接触) with the ground
at all times. It's this strange form that makes race walking such an attractive
activity, however, says Jaclyn Norberg, an assistant professor of exercise scien
ce at Salem State University in Salem, Mass.
. According to most calculations(计算), race walkers moving at a s
peed of six miles per hour would burn about 800 calories(卡路里) per hour. Altho
ugh fewer than running, which would probably burn about 1,000 or more calories p
er hour, it is about twice as many as they would burn while walking.
“However, race walking does not hit the body as much as running does,” Dr.
Norberg says. According to her research, runners hit the ground with about four
times their body weight per step, while race walkers, who do not leave the grou
nd, create only about 1.4 times their body weight with each step.
As a result, she says, “some of the injuries connected with running, such a
s a runner's knee, are uncommon among race walkers.” But the sport's strange fo
rm does place lots of stress on the ankles (脚踝) and hips (臀部),so people with
a history of such injuries might want to be careful when trying the sport. “In
fact, anyone wishing to try race walking should probably first consult(咨询) a
coach or experienced racer to learn proper skills,” she says. It takes some pra
ctice.

Students usually prefer to study in the environments with light colors. 36
However, researchers have found the opposite works better.
According to a study, the students' concentration(注意力) levels are higher w
hen they are in the environments with bright colors. In the study, the students
were asked to read a passage and answer questions in rooms with six different co
lors. 37 The students’ reading comprehension(阅读理解) scores were higher i
n the bright red and yellow rooms.
The study shows bright colors can support students’ learning performance by
positively affecting mental and physical states. 38 Several past studies hav
e shown the colors red and yellow make your body more active than blue and green.
However, two-thirds of the students in the study believed that bright red was
n't a suitable color for a study room. 39 But they could improve their learnin
g results by using the color. 40 Maybe in the future, red and yellow will be
the popular colors of study areas because of the study.
