“Prepare to die!” shouted the genie. “A long time ago, I made a promise. If someone set me free, I would make them rich and powerful. But no one ever came. After years and years of waiting, I became very angry. If anyone set me free, I would kill them instead of giving them anything. So, you must die!”
The fisherman was scared but tried to stay calm. He asked hurriedly, “Why I save you from the bottle!” “Because I waited years and years!” the genie shouted angrily, “You must die!”
Then the fisherman thought for a moment. He said bravely, “Before I die, could you answer me one question ” “Be quick!” the genie replied impatiently. “Were you really in the bottle You are so big and the bottle is so small that it could hardly hold one of your feet.” the fisherman asked doubtfully. “Of course I was in the bottle. Don’t you believe me ” the genie replied with pride. The fisherman shook his head firmly and said, “No, and I won’t until I see you in the bottle with my own eyes.”
When he heard this, the genie changed again into smoke. Slowly the smoke went into the bottle. The fisherman watched carefully. When all the smoke went in the bottle, quickly, the fisherman put the lid on and threw it back to the sea. “Never come back!” the fisherman said with a smiling face.
